Marion Lemle Ames passed away peacefully at her home in McLean, Virginia on January 23, 2020 at the age of 97. Born on October 14, 1922 in Berlin, Germany, Marion Ames, a Jew, barely escaped from Nazi Germany with her family in 1938 before immigrating to the United States. A housewife and dedicated mother, she lived on Wemberly Way in McLean for more than 50 years. She was married for over 60 years to Walter D. Ames, a patent attorney, who passed away in 2018.
She is survived by her two sons, Mitchell and Douglas Ames, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her two sons, Perry and Robert, predeceased her.
