I was so sorry and shocked to hear of Mark's passing. I have worked at the Postal Service almost 17 years and Mark was nothing but kind. He was a great man and very good at his job. He will be sorely missed.

My condolences to the family and his friends and colleagues. During my interactions with Mark in the Finance Department of the Postal Service, I was continually struck by his integrity and quiet sense of humor. Mark always considered complicated issues thoughtfully, with his conclusions reflecting his honesty and thoroughness.

I'm deeply adden to hear the passsing of Mr. Berthold. I had the pleasure to work for him in Treasury for 15 years. I always told him that I will never apply for a position in another department, even though he encouraged me to do so, because I was very greatful for hiring me when I was working in Minneapolis. I always tell colleagues and friends that he was the BEST manager I ever worked for in my 44 years with the Postal Service. I was waiting for him to tell me he was retiring so I can take him to lunch. He was truly a great guy and I send my deepest condoences to his family.
