Solomon, Marlene, G., 83, of Golden Valley, MN, formerly of Rockville, MD and Scranton, PA passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018. Marlene was an internationally celebrated Jewish educator, devoted and deeply passionate about her work in this field. She was known for her creative and innovative programs at Temples Emanuel and Sinai in Washington D.C. and at Jewish Community Centers in Rockville, MD and Minneapolis, MN. Besides the exhilaration she felt for her work, it was being surrounded and loved by her dear friends and family that provided the deepest joys in her life. Marlene also enjoyed reading, taking stands on important issues, the arts, celebrating Jewish Holidays, cheering on the Vikings, and anything chocolate.
Marlene is preceded in death by her husband, Morton L. Solomon, her parents Roy Harold Stein and Mildred Stein; survived by her three children, Susan Turner (Phil Malter) of Glen Burnie, MD; Diana Herzan (Jim) of Medina, MN; Wendy Jablow of Wilmette, IL; her brother, Richard Stein of Oak Forest, IL; four grandchildren, Britta DeVinny (Shawn), Scott Herzan, Max Jablow, Hannah Jablow; two great-grandchildren, Graham and Ellie DeVinny; and significant other, Richard Hoffman.
Funeral services will be held for Marlene for family and friends at King David Memorial Garden, National Funeral Home 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042 on Friday, December 21, 2018. A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at 2:00 p.m
