On Thursday, May 5, 2011, "Marty" Augherton died suddenly in a pedestrian accident while attempting to rescue his dog near his home in Early, TX. Surviving are his parents, Thomas, Sr. and Elizabeth Augherton of Arlington, VA; brother, Thomas, Jr. (Lynn) Augherton of Carefree, AZ and sister, Ann Augherton (Christopher Gunty) of Arlington and his niece, Kelly Augherton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1914 N. Randolph St. Arlington, VA 22207 on Thursday, May 12 at 11:30 a.m. with the family receiving friends at 11 a.m. Interment National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
