Martin Barry Flax

Martin Barry Flax, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend passed away on April 2, 2026 at the age of 89. He leaves a legacy of love, resilience, and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Marty is survived by his children Ron Flax (Mindi), Wendy Salzman (Kenny), Gary Flax (Elena), his bonus children Rob Feldman (Karen) and Marti Cullen, his brother Richard Flax (Kathy), eleven grandchildren, two great grandsons, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette Flax and his parents, Bess and Emil Flax.

Marty was born on July 29, 1936 and was raised in Washington, DC. Marty was a loyal and devoted man who adored his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He felt fortunate to have his brother live nearby both in DC and in Florida. Marty cherished time spent with his friends whether it was playing cards, sharing a meal, or on the golf course.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association. Marty will be dearly missed by his family and friends. May his memory be a blessing.

Services will be held at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia on Thursday, April 9 at 10:00am.

The family will be sitting Shiva at 7:00pm at the home of the Flax family, 15309 Chinaberry Street, North Potomac, Maryland, 20878.
