Obituary of Michael Andrew McCauley
Obituary Michael Andrew McCauley Death is a natural part of life, the closing chapter of a life hopefully well-lived. But when someone is taken early, it isn’t natural and the pain cuts deep... especially when we lose a radiant soul. Michael Andrew McCauley, 27, of Chantilly, Virginia, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 following a courageous battle with leukemia. We know Michael’s spirit lives on in the hearts of his friends and family, so many of whom have already shared with us how deeply Michael touched them. Michael graduated from Penn State in 2015 and worked at Grant Thornton since graduation. His loves included snowboarding, scuba-diving, reggae music, basketball, traveling the world, writing essays about his life, and intense discussions with friends about life and spirituality. He is survived by his parents, John and Marcie McCauley of Chantilly; his brother, Matt and sister-in-law, Dr. Amanda McCauley of Seattle, Washington (along with Michael’s nephews Calvin and Jacob) and sister, Jessica McCauley and brother-in-law, Jeff Bock of Ann Arbor, Michigan. We will host a ‘celebration of life’ memorial service later this year. Donations may be made to Cedar Run Community Church of Herndon, Virginia (https://www.cedarrun.net/give/). Also, since Michael benefited so much from blood transfusions this past year, we encourage those who can to give blood and help us “Pay It Forward”.
