

Born January 29th, 1932, in Martin’s Ferry, OH, he was the son of Milton Robert Sr. and Carolyn McCormick. Throughout his 94 years, Pete touched the lives of many with his kindness, humility, strong work ethic, and steadfast love for his family.
He married Betty Lorraine Kennedy, in Gainesville, VA, on June 13, 1954. For 71 years, their marriage was defined by love and commitment. Pete's greatest accomplishment was the family he cherished. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found his deepest happiness in caring for those he loved.
He attended Washington and Lee High School in Arlington,VA, where he played on the 1949 and 1950 Virginia State Champion baseball teams. Following high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the 11th Airborne Division.
Upon returning, he graduated from American University and went on to build a distinguished career. For over 50 years, he worked as a real estate appraiser, leadership-minded in his field as the chapter president for both the American Society of Appraisers and the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers.
Pete had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in hunting and fishing with his family. Whether in the woods or on the water, he cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by nature and to share those experiences with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Many of his happiest memories were made outdoors, creating traditions and stories that will be treasured for generations.
Pete is preceded in death by his wife, Betty and son, Milton Robert McCormick III.
He is survived by his children, Brian McCormick of Gore, VA, Brad McCormick (Beth) of Stephens City, VA, Mark McCormick (Denise) of Aldie, VA, and Beth Noe (Thomas) of Valparaiso, IN. He was a proud grandfather to Tyler (AnnMarie), Erin, Laura, Scotty (Tara), Drew (Janessa), Matt (Kristen), Jamie, Lindsey (Chris), Mark (Brieann), Brett (Becca), Taylor (Bryce), Maddie and a great-grandfather to Dexter, Lyle, Maggie, Tyler, Harper, Axl, Hunter, Isabelle, Rilyn, Brandt, Presley, Colton, Charlee, Clayton, Christopher, and Joseph
Pete's gentle spirit, unwavering love for his family, and quiet strength will be remembered always. Though he will be greatly missed, his family finds peace in the promise that he has been joyfully reunited with those who have gone before him and welcomed into the loving presence of the Lord.
A private funeral will be held at National Memorial Park on July 7th in Falls Church, VA.
