Miriam Berg

Miriam is preceded in death by her husband Stephen G. Berg. She is survived by her daughters Fay Brundage and Michelle Berg.

Miriam was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Lincoln High School and worked at Jefferson Hospital before she met and married Steve in 1964. They had two daughters - Fay and Michelle. Miriam was a wife, mother and homemaker for ten years when Steve suddenly and tragically died from a heart attack. She had to switch gears to support her daughters and went back to work as a medical receptionist and transcriptionist, and eventually landed at Fox Chase Cancer Center in 1989. She retired from Fox Chase in 2007.

She was an active and enthusiastic member of Parents Without Partners, which was a Godsend for the family. Through PWP, she met and married Blake Shutt, and they divorced a year later, but remained in touch over the years.

In 2017, Miriam and Michelle both moved to Northern Virginia, where Fay lives. Miriam remained there until she passed at Fairfax Nursing Center, who took very good care of her from 2020 until her death.

Miriam was a loving and beloved single mother to her two daughters, Fay and Michelle and she will be missed and remembered by them every day.

Services will be held at graveside at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Roosevelt Memorial Park located at 2701 Old Lincoln Highway Trevose, PA 19053.
