Murlin W. Altoft

Murl Altoft, 81, of Arlington, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 16, 2021 at Virginia Hospital Center, surrounded by family and friends that he loved deeply. Murl was born in Rochester, NY to Orlo and Jennie Altoft on July 8, 1940. He graduated from Evangel University in Springfield, MO. He was a beloved and devoted husband of Lois Altoft, father of Carmella (Euel) Tritt, Christina (Gregory) Lopez, Kim (Brandon) Regan, Kellie Lewis, Kristie (Brian) Baldwin, Kyle Snoots, grandfather of 23, great-grandfather of 14 with two more great-grandchildren on the way. Murl was admired and loved by all. He worked as an executive for several companies and spent the most years with Marlo Furniture. He recently retired after 14 years as Chief Financial Officer for Bishop O'Connell High School. Murl is preceded in death by his parents Orlo and Jennie, brother George, sister Gloria Easton, son Kenneth Snoots, great-grandson Sawyer Stone. His funeral and interment will be held on Sunday, September 26, at National Funeral Home and Memorial Park, beginning at noon; 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA.
