

Lucy is survived by her sons; Mark, Steven, and Kevin and grandchildren; Ellen, Kyle, Lauren, Brian, Maya, Jacqueline, Dylan, Braden, Noah, and Max.
Lucy was born on March 29, 1934 in Seoul, South Korea. She left Korea in 1951 for Terre Haute, IN. She graduated from Indiana State Teachers College with a degree in Teaching in 1956. During that time, she met her husband to be Dr. Ryun H. Kim. They were married on June 10, 1961 and moved to Baltimore, MD where she began her teaching career and he practiced radiology. Once they were established in Severna Park, MD, they started a family with the birth of their three sons; Mark, Steven, and Kevin on February 11, 1963, March 10, 1964 and October 24, 1967.
Lucy dedicated her life to tirelessly raising her sons and fully supporting her husband. She was an avid golfer, skier, walker, singer, gardener, quilter and expert chef. During her lifetime, she traveled the world with her family throughout Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, as well as Central and South America. There was not a soul that interacted with Lucy that did not feel welcomed and loved. The Kim’s doors were always open to friends and family where they hosted parties and gatherings filled with singing, laughter, dancing, and best of all, her Korean cooking. She was a devoted spiritual woman and brought her family up in The Methodist Church where she was involved in Church activities throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing Lucy Kim.
Lucy’s final resting place will be at Meadowridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Elk Ridge, MD. She will be laid to rest near her mother. A shared bench dedicated to Lucy and her husband, Dr. Ryun H. Kim, will be placed near her burial site to honor their memory and long loving life together.
