Nancy Christian Hearne Johnson

Nancy Hearne Johnson of Falls Church, Virginia, died of natural causes at the age of 88, with her family by her side. Nancy was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and grew up in Cradock, Virginia. After graduating from Radford College she married her high school sweetheart and moved to Richmond, Virginia, where her only daughter was born. They soon kept moving north to the suburbs of Washington, D.C. but always lived this side of the river in Virginia. Her first husband Joseph O. Hearne III died in 1988. She remarried Jack Kenyon Johnson and he died in 2009. She was always a loving mother, and grand-mother. She provided the foundation for their passion for horses and supported their participation in equestrian sports. She loved their horses and was always an animal lover of all kinds. She supported The ASPCA, The National Federation for Wildlife and the Audubon Society. She had also been a community and political volunteer most of her life and enjoyed her faith in the Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter Robin Leigh Hearne Kockler, grand-daughter Courtney Nicole Kockler Jefferson and her kitty, Summer.
