Nora was the adored mother of the late Charles “Bud” Long and the late Gloria “Bootsie” Svedberg. She is survived by her beloved grandson, Bret Svedberg of Fairfax, VA.
Nora, a native of Woodstock, VA, was a dedicated civil servant in the Department of the Army until her retirement in 1987. Affectionately known as “G’ma”, Nora was a talented artist, avid sports fan and a lover of all wildlife. She will best be remembered as a woman of strength and determination with a joyful and generous spirit.
Friends may call on January 20th at 12 noon at Murphy’s Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at the Massanutten Cemetery in Woodstock, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nora's name to the ASPCA or American Cancer Society.
