Oliver Stephen Macabrey

Olivier Hari Stéphane Macabrey was born on August 31st 1985 and sadly passed away on May 8th 2026 at the age of 40. He was born abroad and the family later moved to New Jersey followed by McLean, Virginia.

Olivier held wonderful memories of his younger days: summers in rural France with family, working as a lifeguard at various local pools in McLean, sitting in airplane cockpits for his birthdays, spending time with friends and family and wrestling. After graduating from McLean High School, Olivier studied business at Longwood University. He had very fond memories of his time there, embracing the area’s nature and the lasting friendships he made.

After university he moved back to Northern Virginia and settled in Arlington - he loved it there and felt proud of his community. He had a very successful career working initially as a government contractor followed by being a federal employee in various roles for over a decade.

Olivier is deeply loved and survived by his parents Jean-Marie and Laure, his brother Stéphane, sister Fiona, brother-in-law Hugh, niece Isla, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from childhood, high school, college and career. His sense of humour, affectionate nature, loyalty and warmth to family and friends will be deeply missed.
