Son of Miriam Michel and Victor Colque, both of Potosi, Bolivia, Oscar Alejandro was born on February 9, 1982 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He was the fourth of 6 brothers. Growing up, Oscar enjoyed family, friends, soccer, and being part of his high school band. Oscar attended Maryknoll high school, and graduated from high school in 1999 from the UEE (Army Educational Unit) in Cochabamba, where he also completed his pre-military service.
Oscar Alejandro moved to the United States in 2000 with his brothers. He started working various hospitality jobs while pursuing a college degree. Oscar earned an Associate degree from NOVA Community College in 2007, and his B.S. degree in Business Management from George Mason University in 2010.
In 2007, Oscar started working at L2 Lounge in Georgetown where he began as a bartender and later was promoted to Manager. L2 Lounge, both the staff and its clients, was not only a profession but also a second family to Oscar. Through hard work, dedication, and charisma, Oscar advanced professionally and created a strong network of friends and supporters at L2. He in turn found joy in in supporting his friends, and in reaching out to all employees and helping them tap their potential.
In his adult life, Oscar found pleasure in politics; soccer; hospitality management; spending time with his mother, brothers, nieces and nephews; and cats (ironically, given he was allergic).
Oscar is survived by his father Victor Colque of Cochabamba; his mother Miriam Michel of Springfield, VA; his brothers Roberto, Edgar, and Benito, all of Springfield, VA, stepbrother Weymar of Tampa, FL, and brothers Nicolas and Agustin of Cochabamba, Bolivia; his grandfather Victor Michel of Cochabamba; and his large extended family throughout Bolivia and the United States.
