

Paul Michael McGushin was born in New Haven, Connecticut on March 31, 1942 to Teresa Walsh and Herbert Paul McGushin. He graduated from John Carroll High School in Washington D.C. in 1960 and went on to attend Georgetown University. He then relocated to Santa Monica, California where he worked for a real estate contractor for several years before moving to Northern Virginia. It was at that time Paul began his 40+ year career in the auto sales industry working for Nissan and then BMW of Fairfax. In 1979, he married the love of his life Phyllis (Pimpinella) and they purchased their home in Falls Church, Virginia where they lived together for 43 years. After retiring from the auto business, he worked in security for a government contractor for 5 years.
Paul was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus in Arlington, Virginia for 40+ years. A devoted tennis player, he also enjoyed playing pool and darts with friends. He was an avid daily reader of both the news and novels. Over the years, he and his wife Phyllis travelled extensively throughout the United States, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Croatia, Mexico, and the Caribbean. They maintained a large network of friends with whom they enjoyed socializing and entertaining.
He is survived by his devoted wife Phyllis; younger sister Mary; cousins Brother Joseph, CSC, and Edward Walsh; brother-in-law Marc Pimpinella; special niece Katie Pimpinella; and many wonderful friends.
He is predeceased by his parents (as named above); stepfather Tom Gilmartin; in-laws Anthony and Marge Pimpinella; and many wonderful friends.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 17 at 10:00AM at St. James Church, 905 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA. A luncheon reception will follow from 11:30AM – 3:30PM at the Knights of Columbus, 5115 Little Falls Road, Arlington, VA.
