I'll never stop thinking about you. You left so suddenly...

Id like to share my eulogy here for my dearest sister...
She was RAD, her initials even spelled it.. Rachel Ann Dowden. Im sure my mom and dad planned that. Rachel had so many different looks and personalities. Always vibrant, colorful and beautiful. Even in her darkest days, the ones who loved her always saw her smile. The glimmer in her eyes never could fade. Our sibling time being silly and our natural selves together is what I will cling to for the rest of my days walking this earth. Until we meet again. I hope you see now, how much you were loved and cherished when you were here with us. My sleeping beauty, may your soul be at peace. You are stardust, you are an angel, you are galaxies. The sun on our faces, the rain upon our heads, the sand in our toes,.. that beautiful rose, you are everything to us. Now, then, and forever more. I love you always,

This right here goes out to everyone 
that has lost someone that they truly loved. Life ain't always what it seems to be. Words can't express what you mean to me. Even though you're gone we are still a team. Through your family, I'll fulfill your dream. In the future can't wait to see if you, open up the gates for me. Reminisce sometimes, the night they took my friend. Try to black it out, but it plays again. When it's real feelings it’s hard to conceal. Can't imagine all the pain I feel. Give anything to hear half your breath. I know you're still livin' your life after death. Rachel we will forever be missing you with every breath we take. RIP my cousin!

I would often speak with Rachel in the main office at Mt. View HS or on the phone when she would call the school.  She was a lovely girl and I will miss her smile and sweet manor.  Know that she made all of Mt. View proud  when she graduated.

Dear Jodi and Family:
I am so very sorry for your tremendous loss. Although I never met Rachel personally, I can see from knowing her mother, how much she meant to the lives she touched. As a mother, myself, I know the bond of parent and child and my heart breaks for you all. Please accept my sincere condolences at this very difficult time. I know words cannot express the magnitude of this tragedy. I can only hope each passing day will get a little easier and your family can begin to heal and embrace the lovely memory of your beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend and loved one.

There are honestly no words to describe this, Rachel was such a beautiful and kind person. I may have only met her a few times but each time was wonderful just like she was.  

Rachel was such a special part of my son Eddie’s life.  She turned his darkness into light at a time when I thought nothing and no one would ever be able to do so. She came into our lives from miles away accidentally and we loved her instantly. I drove from NJ to meet her and your family and we will never forget those memories. She will be so missed our love and prayers are with you all.

Jodi, I wish I had the words to say that would ease your pain. I wish I could be with you right now and give you a big hug but please know that I am only a phone call away and I'm here for you anytime day or night. You and your family have been on my mind and in my prayers constantly. I love you! 

Doug and family,
I never met Rachel, but I feel like I knew her because you shared so many stories about all of your children.  My heart breaks for you and your family.  The love that you shared will live on forever in your heart and your memories.  Rachel will watch over all of you and you will hear her, see her, and feel her in your every day being.  Her love for you was great and you will always have that to hold on to.  Keep close to each other and support each other at this time of sorrow, but celebrate her life and the things that she shared with all of you.  God now has a beautiful Dowden angel and she will be there for you when the family meets again.  All my love and big hugs for you and your family.  Tammie

Jodi,  There are no words to ease your pain and grief. Please know that I am thinking of you every moment and sending prayers.  I never had the pleasure of meeting your daughter, but in the short time we have reconnected, I could see the strong bond you had and the love you clearly shared.  My wish for all of you is that during these hardest moments, allow beautiful memories to overtake you.  Remember the smiles, the laughter, the love.
