Raymond was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the only child of Lena and Stanley Dunie, on July 20, 1933, and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Tilden High School in Brooklyn. On February 27, 1955, he married the love of his life, Harriet Naviloff. Ray loved to regale his family with crazy stories of his antics as a proud member of Club Jinx, a bunch of childhood friends, with whom he remained friends for life. He was a devoted and loving father to his children and a soulmate to his wife.
Ray served in the Army and was stationed in Washington, DC, at Walter Reed Medical Center. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the military, he managed various small building subcontracting companies, eventually retiring from Metropolitan Industries, where he built the business from a handful of employees to about 30.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Harriet (Naviloff) Dunie, and his son-in-law Robert Kirkland. Surviving family members include daughter Suzanne Dimoff, son-in-law Robert Dimoff, granddaughter Victoria Dimoff, and daughter Lisa Kirkland.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the visiting nurse practitioner, Julia, at Asbury Methodist Village Wilson House, the physical, occupational, and speech therapists at Frederick Health & Rehabilitation, and all of the kind workers from Frederick Health Hospice.
