

Ray was a skilled power engineer, working at Capital Boiler Works for many years, and was also a proud member of the National Association of Power Engineering. His many interests included playing golf, bee keeping, honey making, fishing, history, storytelling, traveling, sharing his wisdom with others, playing cards, and watching movies, just to name a few.
Ray inspired a lot of people. He was a passionate learner with a friendly and pure competitiveness. He was also known for his healthy appetite, love for cooking, baking pies, and passion for life. Ray maintained a busy social life, throwing the most famous Halloween parties for many years.
Ray leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Enrich S. Hayes; daughters Shayne C. Hayes and Dawn M. Parker; sons-in-law Robbie Lee and Michael Parker; grandchildren Brandon Perry, Ashley Perry, Tyler Dysart, and Kerri Dysart; great-grandchildren Bella Boree, Lilly Dysart, Blayne Boree, Aspen Boyd; siblings Linda Cantu, Jaine Bosworth, Paula Ducker, Malinda A. Vasquez, and Malissa Piedra; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews in particular Sara Shashaani and Michael Melvin.
He is predeceased by his parents Raymond Hayes Sr. and Lea Peck; and siblings Johnny Hayes, Kelly Hayes, and Mark Hayes.
A Visitation for Ray will be held at National Funeral Home 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042 on February 10th, 2021 from 10:00-11:00am, a Funeral Service will be held from 11:00am-01:00pm, and a Committal Service will immediately follow in National Memorial Park. The funeral and committal services will be livestreamed on National Funeral Home – National Memorial Park’s Facebook page for those who wish to attend virtually:
