Richard Eugene Walker

Richard E. Walker, 75, formerly of Falls Church, Virginia, passed away at home, on August 4, 2020 in Suffolk, Virginia.
Richard was born in Washington D.C. to Ann (Bancroft) Shipman and Francis Eugene Walker, on November 17, 1944. He graduated from Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia.
He worked as a Civil Service Employee for The Department of the Interior, at the Smithsonian Institution for 44 years.
Richard was am avid Duckpin Bowler and was a member of the Victory Bowling Lane League in Suffolk. He was also a dedicated member of his local YMCA. If you knew Richard, you also knew how big of a Redskins fan he truly was.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents.
Richard is survived by Pamela Shipman of Woodbridge, Virginia; Cheri Carter, of Elkton, Virginia; Sandra Crawford, of Suffolk, Virginia; and Tim Shipman, of Rapid City, South Dakota. He is also survived by his nephews, nieces, and great nephews and great nieces.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 13, 2020, from 3-4 p.m. at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042. The funeral service will immediately follow from 4-5p.m.
Richard will be laid to rest with his mother on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10a.m. at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.
