Robert was born in Maryland to James and Isabel Buchanan on September 2, 1963. He went to school at Kilmer Junior High and Oakton High School. He served in the National Guard for many years. He was also a master diver and excelled at night dives and training others in deep sea dives. Robert loved to travel and his work in transportation allowed him to visit every region of the country and many international countries. He was a fascinated with family history and dates for the Greenfield and Buchanan family.
Robert is preceded in death by his mother and father, James David Buchanan and Isabel Greenfield Buchanan.
Robert is survived by his three sisters, Abbe Engman of Mississippi, Michele Smith of Virginia, and Helaine de Tomasi of Florida. He also has four nieces and nephews, Brandi, Ronda, Francis and Marie.
Funeral services will be held Noon on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at National Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA. A graveside service will follow immediately after at King David Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends are invited to a reception at National Funeral Home following the graveside service.
