My Junior year of high school I was voted to the Sweetheart Court but couldn't find anyone to take me to the Valentine's dance!  My friend, Sandy Youngblood, said " What about Bob?" (B4movie). I didn't know Bob. Then I met him and it was an instant attraction (maybe it was his haircut).  I asked him to take me to the dance and then we dated for 4 years! We both lived off Jefferson Ave.  That's a long road....so we would walk to meet in the middle and talk for an hour until we were smart enough to get bikes.  Then Bob got his license and got to drive his dad's Dodge Dart which meant Liza Jane got to go everywhere with us with her long tongue always hanging out and her dog blanket, it grossed me out and when I said so, Bob would just laugh and laugh.  He loved Liza Jane.  He also loved Lynard Skynard, anything southern rock and the civil war. He was a southern country boy.  I have so many memories that have come flooding back and have made me and my sisters remember many good times with Bob and our family. I'm so glad that I got to talk with him in recent years, just enough to catch up and hear he had a wonderful wife and hear him brag and brag about his daughter.  He was so proud of her and of how smart and beautiful she is. Of course, I had to joke him and say "she must have gotten them from her mother!"  He just laughed, the same way he did in HS-it was so good to talk with him! Jimmy, Bob loved you so much you were a great older brother!  Gardy, Thanks for everything you have done for Bob and his family.  He was lucky to have you and still have so many old high school friends.  Bob, I will cherish all of our time together and my family and I will always remember you with love and laughter. love always,

To my "old friend" Bob - I have been missing you at work, at the gym, and remembering the visits we have had over the past few months.  Thanks for making the good times fun, and the bad times more bearable.  Our friendship is one of the very best things I have from my time at ARIN.  I will continue to cherish the  memory of the many great conversations we had and how we made our friendship last, patching up our differences and finding our common ground and working together.  Thank you.  Miss you.  Love you.

I knew Bob for 11 years, and in that time he and I must have talked about every topic under the sun. Politics, economics, history, movies, music, books, growing up in the area, parenting -- we covered all of those and all the subcategories you could imagine. I admired his intellect, his curiosity about the world, and most of all, his general decency. He was also a mentor -- Bob truly was like an uncle to me :) I am a better person for having had his friendship and will miss his advice and guidance.

Bob had been a great mentor and a dear friend to me since I worked for ARIN 8 years ago. He will be living in our hearts forever.

I had the great honor of having Bob as my CFO at ARIN. Bob was an exceptional professional. On our trips to various parts of the world, Bob always impressed me and the persons with whom we were meeting with his knowledge of the local politics and economy. Bob was and a good friend. We shared a passion for history. Most importantly, Bob was a good husband and father. I will miss him.

Sadly I only knew Bob for a short 5 years and that is clearly my loss. I always looked forward to the discussions we would have on international politics and couldn't help but love his sense of humor.  He was a true renaissance man and will be missed by all.

Bob and I worked together for nearly eight years, and somewhere along the way we discovered a mutual love of music. I introduced him to some indie rock of the 2000s, and he in turn went out of his way to get his old tapes of indie rock from the 70s put onto CD so that he could share it with me. I'll listen to all of that music now and remember him fondly. The world is a better place for having Bob in it, and he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Back in 1985 I gave Debbies phone number to Bob and the rest is history. I will remember the times spent together fondly. Rest peacefully dear man.

Bob just want to tell you thanks for being a good friend and being a part of my life. I will always have many great memories of you and the good times we had. I will always have a place in my heart for you. My condolences to Debbie,Julianne and Jimmy.

Bob was like a father figure to me.  I might be the one that known him the least in his department but working under a man like Bob for 7 years feels like a lifetime.  He was extremely nice and I will deeply miss his warm smile and every wonderful thing about him.  You will always be in our hearts.

Bob was a great man. His warm and confident presence always put others at ease. He talked lovingly of his family, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was passionate about history.

Bob was also a great friend. He will be missed always.

Such a sad thing to see Bob go at such a young age.  First met Bob on the school bus to J.G Whittier Jr.High in Falls Church. I always enjoyed going to Bob's house saying "Hi Mr. and Mrs. Stratton is Bob home" (trying to act innocent!).  After all these years I have known Bob it is difficult to realize that that he has passed, it is very heart felt.  Bob had a great personality and has many friends who cared about him.  
Debbie;   Greatest condolences.  I am glad you and Bob stopped in Reno on that west coast trip, so I could meet you.  (Jokingly, to see who would put up with Bob!).  I always chuckle, when I think of where you told me Bob took you on the first date and what happened!  Stay strong and I will be there in spirit Wed. 
The great memories of Bob Stratton will always be with us.  God Bless Bob Stratton.

Bob has always been a great friend and part of our entire family. I can't believe Bob is already gone but I know that he is with God and is happy and peaceful now. I have known Bob since I was a little kid and he was the nicest, funniest, sweetest person that would do anything for anyone.  Bob, you will always hold a very special place in my heart! I worked with Bob for 12 years. He was the nicest person, with a wonderful personality and always available to help a colleague with any questions or just to chat. I will miss his calm demeanor, smile, and humor, and I always admired his strength of character. He was loved by all here, and he is dearly missed. My deepest condolences to his wife and daughter.

Bob has always seemed like the strong but silent type.  You can catch a glimpse of his humor here and there, which was a joy to see.  Although we may not have interacted every single day, I felt like I had grown close to him after working with him for over ten years.  He was like a father figure, a mentor and a very good friend.  He was very easy-going and kind.  I will miss him terribly.  His family will remain in my prayers.

Bob has been a wonderful friend for a very long time and we will miss him greatly.  Bob has been a strong friend in so many ways: strong in character and integrity - strong in mind and body - strong in family and friendship.
We hope Debbie and Julianne, Jimmy and the rest of the family can find comfort from their memories and from the support of all of his friends that

I used to work at the gym where Bob worked out. He was always such a nice, upbeat and funny person. I will be praying for his family. May God grant you His peace that surpasses all understanding.
