Robert Eugene Van Pelt Jr.

Captain Robert Eugene VanPelt Jr. Ret. Fairfax County Fire Department and member of Vienna Volunteer Fire Department , 83, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away on July 21, 2017. Robert is predeceased by his parents Robert E. VanPelt, Sr. and Pauline C. VanPelt; and his beloved wife, Gloria Jean VanPelt. Robert leaves behind to cherish his memories his three cherished children Mark VanPelt, Sr (Brenda), Dotti VanPelt, and Robert VanPelt (Teresa); his five adored grandchildren Suzanne Garcia (Blair), Mark A. VanPelt Jr. (Jennifer), Brittany Foutz, Joel VanPelt, and Kevin Lorenz; his four beloved great grandchildren Ayden Garcia, Connor Garcia, Camdyn Foutz, and Mason VanPelt; his sister, Sharon Turley (Morris) and his brother, Donald VanPelt (Caroline).

The family will receive friends at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia 22042, on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:30 pm. Robert will then be laid to rest with his dear wife, Gloria, at National Memorial Park.
