Rodolfo (Rudy) Bala Ines, 89, was a remarkable individual whose steadfast faith and integrity served as a guiding light for his cherished family and the wider community that adored him. With genuine humility, Rudy approached each day as a precious gift from God, filling his life with gratitude and joy. He loved his church community at Culmore United Methodist Church. His time in the Navy was a significant chapter that not only shaped him but also opened doors that greatly benefitted his family. Oftentimes, he even preferred to be called “Chief”.
Rudy’s love story began in the corridors of a local hospital, where he met his charming wife, Caridad, an inspiring midwife. Their serendipitous encounter blossomed into a beautiful marriage, which became the foundation of their lives together. As they nurtured their three wonderful children, they created a loving home that eventually welcomed eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren—an incredible legacy of love and family unity.
Rudy found joy in the rhythm of music, and he was a very good dancer. He often led his family in lively gatherings that were filled with laughter and shared memories. He enjoyed watching boxing and bowling, not just as a sport but as a way to bond with friends and fellow veterans. His active participation in the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and the Fleet Reserve Association demonstrated his commitment to honoring his fellow servicemen and women and fostering camaraderie within his community.
Rudy’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with kindness, generosity, and a gentle spirit that left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was truly blessed, and the love he shared will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in the cherished stories and unwavering love of those he inspired throughout his remarkable journey.
He is survived by his children; Karen Ines, 61 (daughter), Leilani Curran, 24 (granddaughter); Lynn Ines, 63 (daughter), Jamie Felton, 38 (granddaughter), Alex Felton, 31 (grandson); Randy Ines, 62 (son), Jennifer Ines, 53 (daughter-in-law), Jared Ines, 30 (grandson), Leanna Ines, 29 (granddaughter-in-law), Cameron Ines, 10 (great-grandson), Charlie Ines, 6 (great-grandson), Casey Ines, 5 mos.
