Rolando Cruz Santos

Rolando C. Santos entered eternal life on November 18, 2014 in the presence of his family. He was born in Lingayen, Pangasinan in the Philippines on July 22, 1940 to the late Irineo and Mamerta Santos. He was raised and educated in Pangasinan and later in Manila where he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Mapua Institute of Technology in 1962. He worked as a Sales Representative at International Harvester in the Philippines before immigrating to the United States in 1964. Rolly worked in various Consulting Engineering offices in the Washington, DC Metro Area as a Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Designer for 13 years and then joined the Federal Government in 1977. He spent the rest of his illustrious career as a Mechanical Engineer at the Department of Agriculture and then later the Environmental Protection Agency running many projects in the Western Region to include San Francisco, CA, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR until he retired in 2011. Rolly touched the lives of his family and friends and was admired for his kindness and generous manner. Those who knew him well loved his witticism and sense of humor. He was a parishioner and served as a Eucharistic Minister for several years at St. James Catholic Church in Falls Church, VA. He is survived by his loving wife of 49+ years, Esther M. Santos; son, Rob (Maya); daughter, Margie (Rob); sisters, Mellie (Amado),and Gloria; brother, Tony (Tessa); grandchildren, Dylan, Sarah, Tiffany, Brandon, and Nick.
