Roman was born in Magalang, Pampanga, Philippines to Mauricio Cosio and Timotea Mendiola Cosio on February 29, 1940. He married Nida Tayag Bulanadi on December 17, 1967.
Roman started his career at the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. where he enjoyed extensive travel and working with colleagues who became dear friends over the years. He then spent the remainder of his career providing insurance services to federal employees. Roman was a sports fanatic, an avid basketball player and coach, a loyal Washington Commanders fan, and the biggest cheerleader for his family on and off the soccer field or basketball court. He was happiest when watching his grandchildren play and no matter the outcome of a match or game, would always tell them, ‘You are the best!’
Roman is survived by his wife, Nida Bulanadi Cosio, who he saw in a parade and fell captive to ‘love at first sight’; his daughters, Rowena Nanette Cosio and Rizza Cosio Charlet (husband Andrew Michael Charlet); and his adored grandchildren, Devon Isabella Furce, Jake Cosio Furce, Conor Cosio Eklund, and Ava Kendall Eklund. And for all of the family dogs throughout the decades and the five (Zoe, Tobi, Loki, Reece, and Theo) who survive him, his love was boundless. If he could spoil them and sneak them treats all day, he would…. and they knew it so would always be as close to him as possible, even more so when food was around.
The family is immensely grateful for all of your support and finds comfort in knowing how loved he was.
