

Originally from Gloucester, Virginia, she attended Mary Washington College, Columbia University, American University, George Washington University and the Corcoran School of Art from 1942-1946 where she also taught children's art classes. She also attended the Jerry Farnsworth School of Art at Cape Cod in 1946 and 1947.
She illustrated the George Shankle History of Seals, Flags, Birds and Flowers of the then forty-eight states, received three awards from the area shows held at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, and two awards from the Society of Washington Artists' annual exhibitions. She was included in the book "Washington Artists Today" published in 1966, and was represented in private collections. She had two solo shows at the Emerson Gallery in McLean. The Corcoran Gallery of Art chose her "Winter Waterfront" to travel to sixteen states as part of the 1958 area show. She was a paid copyist of paintings at the Corcoran, one of which was for a descendant of Sir Jacob Fowle whose full length portrait was painted by John Singleton Copley.
Beloved wife of the late Aubrey Jackson Farley, she is survived by her only son Jack and two grandchildren of North Potomac.
Memorial service March 4 at 12 p.m. at Money and King Funeral Home, Vienna.
