Rose Burka died peacefully at her home in Naples, Florida on January 23 at the age of 101. She was born in Washington, D.C. on November 10, 1914 to Bessie and David Feldman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Irving Burka, M.D., her brothers Samuel Feldman, D.D.S. and Irving Feldman, and her sisters Mildred Hofberg and Sylvia Shapiro. She is survived by her children Barrett L. Burka, M.D. (Jo Anne) of Naples, Florida and McLean, Bonnie Burka Shannon, Ph.D. (Michael) of Torrence, California, and Steven A. Burka, M.D. (Barbara) of McLean. She also leaves eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mrs. Burka had attended George Washington University and was a long-time member of Adas Israel synagogue and Woodmont Country Club. Graveside services to be held at King David Memorial Gardens on Monday, February 1, at 1:00 p.m.; Shiva to follow at Dr. Steven Burka's home.
