Ruby Mae Painter, of Leesburg, Virginia, passed away on March 16, 2019, at the age of 83. Ruby was born on October 10, 1935, in Arlington, Virginia. She was the second of three children (the only daughter) born to the late James Preston Hefner, Sr, and Willie Mae Hefner.
Ruby was preceded in death by her older brother, James Preston Hefner, Jr, of Manassas, VA. She is survived by her younger brother Charles Franklin Hefner and his wife Helgard, of Nuremburg, Germany. Additionally, Ruby’s three children and their families: Maurice Julian Painter, Jr. and his wife, Libby, of Edinburg, VA; Cynthia Mae Walker, of Ashburn, VA; and Timothy Wayne Painter and his wife, Colleen, of Ashburn, VA. Ruby enjoyed the blessings of seven nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Ruby’s life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Colonial Funeral Home (www.colonialfuneralhome.com), 201 Edwards Ferry Rd, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176, with Herbie Aguilar officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the memorial service begins at noon. Following the service, Ruby’s family will host a catered reception in the Monroe Room of the Clubhouse at Lansdowne Woods of Virginia (www.lwva.org), 19375 Magnolia Grove Square, Leesburg, VA 20176, at 1:00 p.m.
