Ruth Ella Smith Bartleson Knight, 91 of Fredericksburg joined her heavenly father on Monday, April 18, 2011. Born June 24, 1919, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Frank Garfield Smith and Fannie Brown Sperry.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Garfield Smith, Jr., her sister, Frances Betty Hertzog and her first husband, Henry Franklin Bartleson, formerly with Caron Spinning Co in Robesonia, PA.

She worked several years for Pitney Bowes in Falls Church. In 1979 she married Isaac Warner Knight Jr. and assisted him at Hillview Flowers in Santa Ana. Calif. In 1986, Ruth and Warner relocated to

Fredericksburg.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 31 years, Warner Knight, her son, Bruce A. Bartleson of Fredericksburg; her daughter Deborah F. Johnson and her husband, Raymond Wayne Johnson of Fredericksburg; her daughter Betty Jane Bartleson and her companion, Jay Linthicum of Loomis, Calif. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Bonnie Tregaskis and her husband, Brent of Big Bear Lake, Calif., and her stepdaughter Annie McMillin of South Lake Tahoe. Calif.

Ruth is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Burbey, Brook Sutton, David Wayne Johnson,

Katie McMillin, Shelly McMillin, Nancy McMillin, Kathryn Lee Torbert, Marlee Ella Gruber and Shelby Marie Gruber; and great grandchildren Siena, Samuel Warner and Pearl.

The memorial service and inurnment will be private.
