Ryan was a devoted husband to Erica Lengyel for over 18 years and a loving father to their nine-year-old daughter, Peyton Lengyel. He is also survived by his mother, Beverly Lengyel; his sister, Angela Sorrell; his best friend, William Lubetkin; and preceded in death by his father, Erich Lengyel. Ryan was cherished as a son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, son-in-law, and friend to many.
A proud graduate of McLean High School in 1999 and East Carolina University in 2003, Ryan embraced life with enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit. He spent many years living abroad in Japan, Kuwait, and Jordan; creating unforgettable memories with his family along the way.
Ryan had a deep love for traveling and shared countless adventures with those closest to him. He found joy in movies, cooking, gaming, Jeeps, biking, and football—always cheering passionately for the Washington Commanders. His infectious smile could light up any room he entered and brought warmth to everyone around him.
Above all else, Ryan loved his family deeply. His unwavering devotion to Erica and Peyton was evident in every aspect of his life. His legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to honor Ryan with a donation to the American Heart Association or a contribution to Peyton’s 529 college fund. For the latter, checks can be made out to “College America” with “FBO Peyton Q. Lengyel” on the memo line and mailed to:
