Sandra H Palmucci

Sandra Louise Himmelman Palmucci, 88, passed away peacefully in Falls Church, VA on October 9, 2026. Born February 7, 1938, in Malden, Massachusetts, Sandra began her studies in English Literature at Syracuse University before leaving college in 1969 to marry John Palmucci Jr. Sandra was a devoted wife and mother to John's children, Susan and John III. She later returned to school, earning her bachelor's degree from St. Thomas University and a Master's degree in Humanities from Loyola University in Maryland.

For decades, Sandra was at John's side as he built a distinguished career in higher education finance and administration, including his role as Vice President for Finance at Loyola. As a gracious hostess and active presence at conferences and association gatherings, Sandra became, alongside John, a beloved and memorable figure in their professional circles — known widely for her charm, warmth, and genuine interest in others.

Sandra is survived by her children, John Palmucci III and Susan Walker; her grandchildren, Sarah Weaver and Austin Taylor; and her six great-grandchildren, who carry her warmth and spirit forward.

A family memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harvey Himmelman Palmucci Scholarship fund at Merrimack College, Andover, MA.
