

Shaw Ken Zee passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the age of 75. After a brief battle with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer, Shaw died peacefully with his beloved wife Lily and their children by his side.
Shaw was born in Shanghai, China in 1946 to father Tsong Zee and mother Ah Foo Shen. The youngest of ten children, Shaw immigrated from Shanghai to Washington, DC in 1962.
Shaw earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland and received his Master's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University. His first job was with Westinghouse in 1972 and he retired in 2004 from the IRS as a federal government employee.
Shaw was an avid golfer and talented table tennis player. He won numerous sporting events for both but his most notable achievement was winning gold at the 2019 National Senior Games - Table Tennis - Mens Doubles in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also placed eighth for Mens Singles. Shaw also devoted his time as the Principal of the Buddhist Temple Chinese Sunday School in Maryland and as President of the Herndon Senior Center.
Shaw is survived by his wife Lily Zee, his siblings Alan Zee, Mona Fu and Paul Zee, as well as his children Kenny Zee and Karen Rewalt, and his grandchildren Parker Rewalt, Payton Rewalt, Landon Zee, and Tenley Zee.
A Buddhist funeral service for Shaw will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
