Leesburg, Virginia – Stephen Fisher passed away at Inova Loudoun Hospital, after a brief illness. Steve was born in Arlington, Virginia to John E. and Nancy B. Fisher. He is survived by his mother, Nancy of Falls Church, Virginia, as well a sister, Emmie, Champaign, Illinois, brother John and sister-in-law Sally, Richmond, Virginia, three nephews and a niece, Justin Lee, Benjamin Lee, Adrienne Fisher, and Eric Fisher, as well as many loving cousins.
Steve graduated from Falls Church High School in 1978. He played trombone in the marching band and took particular joy in attending yearly band reunions in Orkney Springs.
Steve attended George Mason University and the Vermont Law School, graduating with his J.D. in 1992. He practiced law for several years in Jacksonville, Florida before returning to Northern Virginia to open a private practice in Loudoun County. Steve regularly provided his services pro bono for people who could not afford to hire an attorney.
Steve was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved spending time at the beach with family and friends. A fine and inventive chef, he opened his home to host holiday meals, parties and cookouts. He adopted three cats, Peaches, Lulu and Dolly, over the past several years from the humane society. He owned a vast collection of movies and particularly enjoyed Woody Allen films. Following in his father’s footsteps, Steve became a Toastmaster and was the steward of many of his family’s keepsakes and historical documents.
