Stephen M. Hewitt

Stephen "Steve" Michael Hewitt, 61, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Fair Oaks Hospital following a heart attack. Beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betty" Freudiger Hewitt, with whom he had recently celebrated twenty-three years of marriage. Devoted step-father to Sherry Noud (Shawn) and Christina Mattson; adoring "Opa" to granddaughters, Julia and Maya Noud. Born in Washington, DC, to Mrs. Louise F. Hewitt and the late Morris F. Hewitt. Brother to the late Kenneth W. Hewitt (Gladys) and Gloria Smith (Jairo Rodriguez). Steve, at the time of his death, was Worshipful Master of Henry Lodge No. 57 A.F. & A.M. Fairfax, VA and also a member of the Alexandria Scottish Rite, Kena Shrine, Hope Chapter No. 73 Order of the Eastern Star and National Sojourners. As a youth and young adult, Steve was an active member of Lord Fairfax Chapter, Order of Demolay, earning the Legion of Honor and Chevalier. Steve graduated from Fairfax High School in 1968. He proudly served in the United States Army as a member of the 18th M.P.BDE from 1971 to 1973. Steve graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1983. He retired from the Central Intelligence Agency in 2005 following a thirty year career with the agency with his most recent position being that of IT Hardware Specialist. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to a memorial scholarship fund which can be sent to Henry Lodge #57, P.O. Box 175, Fairfax, VA 22030-0175. Please note Stephen M.
