In loving memory of our dear brother, Steven James McNabb a.k.a. KAOS recently passed away at home at the age of 55 on November 2, 2015. Steve was born on April 8th, 1960 in Blue Island, IL. Steve was a loving son, brother, father and loyal friend. He leaves behind his son, Steven R. McNabb, Brothers John R. McNabb, Thomas A. McNabb and Sister Sharon D. Kallio. Brother-in-law to Holly Hart and Thomas Kallio. He is preceded by his parents, John L. McNabb and Georgia D. McNabb. Steve will always be remembered for his love of family, friends, his cats and his love of music. He used to love playing his guitar with his friends & family & missed his beloved ’49 Harley Davidson Panhead which we hope he is riding up there in the clear blue skies without pain and the wind on his face.
Steve graduated from Surrattsville High School in Maryland with the class of 1978. He was a talented mechanic which came in very handy when you own a vintage motorcycle. He had many jobs and hobbies over the years. He was a roofer, a tractor trailer driver both locally and long distance as well as a contract framer, carpenter, small engine mechanic and a certified locksmith. He would often joke that he was a jack of all trades but master of none. He was a hard worker for as long as his body allowed. Steve was a gifted athlete! He set the 50 yard dash record at Swanson Middle School in Arlington and lettered at soccer, lacrosse, & football at Charlotte Hall in Maryland. Steve was also a dare devil even from the start of his young life jumping off roofs, setting up ramps for Evil Knievel tricks. He feared nothing, never realizing the toll it would later take on his body. Steve was also a big history buff but his greatest accomplishment by far was his son, Steven. Steve was so proud watching him grow up and apply his gifts of Math & Technology and is now a junior at UNC. Our brother Steve is greatly missed and will live on in our hearts and memories forever!
A memorial service honoring Steve’s life will be planned for April 2016 where he will be laid to rest with his mother, Georgia D. McNabb at the National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA. We will post more details at a later date about a Service planned for April 2016. Please pass this information on to any other friends and family of Steve’s as it is difficult to reach everyone!
