Terence Gerard O'Donnell

Terry was the eighth of nine children born to Mary M. and Robert J. O’Donnell, M.D, both of whom predeceased their youngest son. Terry was also predeceased by his brother, Bobby (“Dede’), his sister, Helen Tharpe (“Bob”), and his sister, Joanne Woods (“Tom”).

Having attended McLean High School, Terry worked at Arlington Hospital and Quest Diagnostics for many years before moving out west to Utah, near his older sister and her family, for more than 6 years. Terry moved back to Northern Virginia approximately two years ago.

Terry was the original “hail fellow well met,” who honestly, never met a stranger. Terry never forgot anyone he met, and often could recall actual dates of events he shared with his friends and family. He was also the first to laugh at himself! When it came to driving, Terry could easily navigate to anyplace in the United States, and having done so could easily return to that destination without delay.

Terry leaves behind five siblings: Mary Lane (“Jim”), Meg, Jack (“Lynn”), Bill (“Gloria”), and Katie (“Greg”) as well as 14 nieces/nephews and 19 grandnieces/grandnephews.

A memorial service for Terence will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. A private burial to follow.
