I was so sorry to learn of Tom's passing. As an alumnus of the GW psychiatry residency, a longtime member of the GW psychiatry faculty and a dear colleague, Tom's death is especially painful. From the GW psychiatry family we send our sincerest condolences. We will miss Tom.

I can’t remember ever not feeling genuine love and kindness from my uncle. Even when we didn’t agree about something, I still felt that love. I saw him give it to everyone in his life. I saw this love and kindness even when his wife was gravely ill, and when he himself faced his own death. I am so glad he got to see my children. I will miss having him in my life.

Dr. Thomas Jacob was a rare soul who seamlessly integrated psychology with deep Christian spirituality. His understanding and wisdom were profound, and his care for others was genuine.

I will always be grateful for how much he helped me and will deeply miss our conversations about what truly matters in life.

Dr. Jacob leaves behind a lasting legacy of service that extends far beyond Northern Virginia and will continue to touch future generations.

To Mrs. Jacob & Family,

I was saddened beyond words when I heard that Dr. Jacob passed away. He was my doctor for many years and helped me so much during some extremely difficult times. He also became a very dear friend. I always looked forward with joy to our meetings!  

Dr. Jacob was a wonderful and beloved man. I will NEVER forget him.  I will truly miss his warm smile, reassuring voice, and incredible wisdom.

My sincerest condolences to Dr. Jacob’s family and friends. Dr. Jacob was an answer to prayer, a kind and Godly man whose wise counsel brought me through some profoundly difficult seasons of my life. Over the years, he became like a dear friend  - and while I am devastated at his passing, I also look forward to a joyful reunion with my brother in Christ. 

Thank you, Dr. Jacob, for all the ways in which you changed my life and that of my family; your help will reverberate across many generations.  I will miss you very much.

My husband and I were heartsick to learn that Dr. Jacob had passed away.  We’re so sorry for your loss.  As a psychiatrist, he was one of a kind.  He saw the practice of psychiatry as a combination of therapy and pharmacology.  Through his therapy, he demonstrated his compassion, faith, and humanity.  Through his pharmacology, he demonstrated his wisdom and experience.  He was such a good man, and he will be missed by so many people.
