

Tom was born on May 31, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio, to Francis and Irene Thiebaut. He attended Bowling Green High School and later graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. On August 31, 1957, he married the love of his life, Sharon J. Thiebaut, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Together they shared many years of marriage and family life until Sharon's passing. In later years, Tom found companionship and happiness with his wife, Rose Thiebaut, with whom he shared his life until his passing.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his military service, he dedicated more than 35 years to federal service as a Senior Program Analyst, earning the respect of colleagues through his professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public service.
Beyond his career, Tom was deeply involved in his community. Throughout decades of service, he generously shared his time and talents with both the Kena Shriners and the Arlington-Fairfax Elks Lodge. He was a trusted mentor to many, always willing to offer guidance, encouragement, and friendship. His quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and dedication to helping others exemplified what it means to be a good citizen and active member of the community.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon J. Thiebaut; his sisters, Anne Householder and Karen Gray; and his brothers, Charles Thiebaut, William "Bill" Thiebaut, and Harry Thiebaut.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Thiebaut; his son, Steven Thiebaut (Karen); and many extended family members, friends, and fellow community members who will cherish his memory and the lasting impact he made on their lives.
The family of Tom Thiebaut extends its heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated physicians, nurses, hospice caregivers, and medical staff whose compassionate care and support ensured his comfort and dignity during his final days.
A Celebration of Life honoring Tom will be held at a later date. Details regarding the service, as well as his interment at Arlington National Cemetery, will be announced and shared with family and friends as they become available.
