

Travis E. Hafner, age 53, passed away September 20, 2026 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He was born February 23,1973, in Hilton, NY. Son of Kevin & Lorrie Hafner. Travis was born and raised in Hilton NY and graduated from Hilton high School in 1993. Before earning an Associate's degree for Liberal Arts, A Bachelor of Arts, Government, and International Politics, And Master's Degree of Professional Studies and Homeland Security.
Travis served his country in the United States Army old guard for many years at Ft. Myer Arlington, VA. He loved the Army. He also worked as a private security guard for Princess in Cairo for a couple years. Worked at Fairfax hospital as a security guard. Travis got deployed to Iraq, where he was wounded in service twice to his nation. He received a purple heart. Worked at George Washington University as a Police officer for 12 years. Worked at Robinson Secondary High School and a commander at 9274 VFW Post, Falls Church VA.
Beyond his professional life, he was known for his strong work ethic, kindness, and dedication to his community and county. Travis was also called a “social butterfly” and touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. His selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives in all of us.
He is survived by his wife Jovilyn A. Hafner; brothers, Eric and Brad Hafner; nephews, Alex, Ellwood, and Brody Hafner; niece, Bella Hafner; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins; forever best friends, Jason Strasser, Cory Zemany, Mohsin Basir, and Jeff Marriott; many others in the Army and VFW; and his 4-legged companion Magnus.
Travis enjoyed many activities such as, gardening; pickling tomatoes and cucumbers; having breakfast at Lazy Mike’s; going to The American Legion, 9274 VFW Post Falls Church and VFW McLean Post; playing and walking his buddy Magnus; walking 12 milers; spending quality time with family, especially during the holiday season! He loved The Nationals Baseball team!
Funeral services will be held on October 1, 2024 at 3pm- 5pm at National Funeral Home 7482 Lee Highway Falls church VA. 22042
