

Uan Chevitanon of Oakton, VA, died of natural causes on November 30, 2013. He was born in Thailand but migrated to the United States in 1968. He is survived by Gloria, his wife of 27 years, and son Kevin.
In 1975, he worked with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority in Washington, D.C. and dedicated 27 years of his life specializing in bus transmissions until he retired.
Uan’s passion for transportation was not limited to buses. As a car enthusiast, he went the extra mile, travelling to Germany to select his new cars and test drive them on the Autobahn. He also enjoyed fishing and travel. His motto was, “See the world before you leave it.” He was curious about other people’s ways of life. His vision for the future was to help his wife and son establish an educational foundation in Asia to help underprivileged children. He also loved food and cooked sumptuous dishes.
He liked pleasing guests through their palate.
His memory will be cherished by brothers Pi-Han, Suraphan and Lang; sisters Sumalee, Suwanna and Pi-Long; sisters-in-law Pi-Sang, Pi-Chao and Mary; nieces Kanittha, Tima, Nok, Christina, Nompong, Jennifer and Kristy; nephews Nat and Gof; extended family Mike; cousins and other relatives and friends.
