Five years gone, my friend. I miss you often. You were the nicest person that I have ever met always there with a greeting, a laugh, a hug, or a car ride and chat. You were my best friend. Still think about Victor and all that he did for the world quite often. It was obvious that he was a special person, a healer?,  from the first time we met him at the plastic surgery office he was working out of. He saw something he liked in us too and over time a  doctor became a friend. Thanks for all the love you showed us and so many others Victor. That love will always be with us but I wish you were too.

Dr Victor Ibrahim was a wonderful doctor and a warm and caring human being. At cost to himself, he focused on and was interested in the person, the patient.  He practiced with delight, and was eager to help, thoughtful in diagnosis, and encouraging in aiding recovery. The physicians who recommended him to me spoke of him as one of the most valuable people and physicians they had ever known

I left the DC area in 2016 after Dr. Ibrahim took such great care of me and my husband.  I was just looking him up to say hello and thank him as we were talking about him.  Saw the terrible news of his death.  We will miss him - I always enjoyed our appointments - his care of his patients and his curiosity of what could come next in medicine was inspirational.

You gave so many of us health and hope. We will always hold the memory of your smile and grace close to us and honor you by striving for compassion and caring . May your sons be comforted by  your legacy of heroism. 

Think of you often, miss your smile and kind heart.  A true angel on earth gone way too soon.  I can’t believe it’s been two years.  You are so deeply missed! 🙏💓

Dr. Ibrahim, you will never be forgotten. 

I have a chronic nerve/muscle issue that still flares up frequently. Whenever it gets bad, I often think about every time I would step into his office again feeling low, Victor’s smiling face would say “Well, why don’t we try this?” Even if it didn’t work, the brilliant idea he would seem to pull from thin air gave a new direction and hope. He refused to take money from me for procedures that insurance didn’t cover, saying I had dealt with enough. I found myself thinking about him tonight and that line again, especially now, that smile and “Well, why don’t we try this?” Miss you Vic.

I am a physician and  I was in attendance when Dr. Ibrahim took care of my mother several years ago. His care, warmth and compassion were exemplary and unique in today's rushed-feeling medicine.  I also remember how lovingly he spoke of his family during that visit.

 I'm very saddened by this news. I could tell that he gave a lot of himself.  Most non-physicians are not aware of the compromises and sacrifices that physicians make and how much of a toll that takes on them. 

He will be missed. He touched people's lives, even on the brief encounter such as the visit with my mother. 



Victor, I pray that with your passing you have the peace, clarity and eternal light you always sought and vastly deserve. 

Your kindness, childlike innocence, and open mind and heart made you a tad too tender for this particular plane.

As many of us, I have spent the last few days trying to honor Victor on the one-year anniversary of his death. Please join me in 5 minutes of silence either at 5:00 pm Eastern today or when you read this message. We can contemplate, meditate and pray together for Victor, for his family, and especially for Luke and Noah. May coming together soften our sorrow for his loss. Victor was transformative-bringing health and hope to hundreds or probably thousands of us suffering from physical medicine challenges. I remember his bright eyes, warmth, empathy, brilliance and innovation. These traits will light my way to honor and continue his legacy. I will always be grateful for having known him and for these gifts of life and healing that he gave to me and my family. 


I’m grieving for the loss of Dr Ibrahim and thinking about his family on the anniversary of his passing.  He was an exceptional doctor and healer who gave  me the gift of living free of pain.  He listened to the pain, located its cause, and solved the problem.  I will always be grateful to him for his wisdom.  

Almost a year anniversary of his passing, and I was just enlightened to this sad news. Dr. Ibrahim was an amazing soul who I am eternally grateful to have been introduced to after a hamstring injury in 2012 and our attempt to include Pilates in to his healing practices for future patients. Family, please know your father's smile, kindness and ingenuity are often present with me to this day. Peace & blessings.

I am saddened to learn of Dr. Ibrahim’s passing. I just attempted to message him on LinkedIn and discovered that  we are no longer connected so I googled him. 
I am shocked to say the least. I was a patient of his at NRH-Bethesda. 
He was so friendly, down to earth and I always looked forward to seeing him for therapy after a severe back injury.
I too experienced a sudden loss in 2018, losing my Mother and the pain is indescribable and incomparable.

This Saturday, February 23, 2019, will be 6 months since the loss of Dr. Victor Ibrahim. For weeks he has been especially in my heart. It is still hard to believe he is gone and my sadness is so deep for him and his family, especially Luke and Noah. I want them to know how truly amazing their father was and how he gave so many people  their lives and health. And for them to know how their father's smile lit up with eagerness and love  each day when he left the office to get home to them. They were the love of his life. He and I shared a deep  parental love for our  children . We will always miss him.

I learned of Dr. Ibrahim's death just a few days ago, with great shock and sadness.  Although I was his patient only for a short while, during his time at NRH, he changed my life considerably.  Having been told by another respected specialist that my ankle condition was irreversible and that my running days were behind me, I was somewhat skeptical when the much younger Dr. Ibrahim told me he could help.  Under his care, my ankle improved dramatically.  But it was not just the positive outcome that has stuck with me all these years.  It was also Dr. Ibrahim's kindness, and optimism, and willingness to "think outside the box" in order to treat me.  I will be forever grateful to have been his patient.  My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones - may your memories help to ease your pain.

There are no words  special enough to do Victor justice. I met him as a patient and found his hands to be those of a healer. His possessed a superior intellect and wit, and was the kindest and most humble man I’ve ever met.  He was the age of one of my sons but despite his youth, he had a wisdom that exceeded his years. Victor loved his family so much and took joy in being a family man. 

He loved his patients and would go to great ends to provide incredible medical care.  While he may have been treating a specific body part, there was no separation in his addressing the person as a whole.  His care helped me so much, but his caring also made me whole. He loved all his patients and wanted to ease their suffering...and he did.  

We talked about many things and shared a lot of information about ourselves.  To his family, you’ve suffered a terrible loss.  There is nothing that I can say to make it any better. There is no rhyme or reason for a loss this great. ‘What is loved remains in the heart’  and I can truly say that anyone having the great fortune to have known him will never forget him. 

I was extremely sad to learn the passing of Dr. Ibrahim.  I was his patient at the NRH.   He is gone too soon.  Deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and patients.

I learnt just an hour ago about Dr. Ibrahim.  I am so saddened by his passing.  I, like so many before me who have posted, found Dr. Ibrahim a gifted healer ... of body ... and soul.   Kind, thoughtful, considered ... and patient.   May he find peace .... 

Dr. Ibrahim treated my daughter, son in law, son, and husband. He was a true healer and an extraordinary human being. He is in God’s keeping and he will be sorely missed.

I always considered it a gift from God when, in 2015, I first called for an appointment with Dr. Victor Ibrahim, and it dovetailed with a cancellation that got me in to see him in a matter of days. It was a blessing beyond measure. I found him to be everything others have said here: Thoughtful. Kind. Energetic. Brilliant. A Healer.

Even though I've known him, all told, only for a matter of hours in the intervening years, I am shattered to learn that Doctor Victor is gone from our world, and from the daily lives of his wife and the boys he so cherished. But I do know God will keep them in His care and that Victor’s unique spirit will light the world beyond this sad time. To all his family, my thoughts and prayers are with you forever.

Thank you, Dr. Victor Ibrahim, for the talents you shared with so many of us. You, yourself, were the gift from God.

I was close to hopeless about my neck injury until I saw Victor--his treatments were finally what helped, but even when I plateaued, he didn't give up.  He was willing to go great lengths and use nontraditional modes to help people.  His smile was always a healing balm as well.  I am so glad I got to know him.  My body and my soul are better for knowing him.

Dr. Ibrahim treated me over a period of 6-9 months for shoulder problems.  He was a lovely man and a much appreciated doctor.  I am shocked and saddened that he is no longer here.  My heart goes out to his loved ones and coworkers.  What a loss.

After many years of limited mobility, I recently have been able to walk without support and can do so for miles at a time. I never expected this to happen. People often are astonished by this change and ask me what accounts for it. I never know exactly what to say because it is a long, complicated story. So I just usually say it was a “miracle” and basically let it go at that. In point of fact, Dr. Victor Ibrahim was the miracle. He treated me for at least seven years. During this time my wife, Ann, and I followed him from NRH and Georgetown Hospital, to MOST, and finally ROSM as he established his private practice in regenerative medicine. 
Ann, who greatly distrusts physicians and hates all medical appointments, hardly ever missed one of mine with Dr. Ibrahim. She loved, as did I, his encouragement of questions, his clear way of explaining complicated terms and procedures, his compassionate medical treatment, his  upbeat manner when my  progress was problematic. In the course of our meetings we learned  of his great devotion to his family, his pride in his staff, and his boyish enthusiasm for almost all things, especially soccer.  And under his care  I gradually began to walk more and with less pain. 
I last saw Dr. Ibrahim two years ago. At the time he expressed concern about the combined physical effects my continued use of a cane and support socks were having on my legs and upper body. He strongly recommended that I transition off the cane and socks.  I did it and almost immediately was walking distances I could never have imagined. 
I am extremely saddened by Dr. Ibrahim’s death, partly because I was not able to demonstrate the results of his most recent advice.  He changed my life in numerous  ways. He remains a continuing presence for me and my wife. We both gratefully attest that Victor Ibrahim produced miracles and did so in the most caring and humane way.

My heart was saddened to learn of Dr. Ibrahim's death. I was a patient of his and so appreciated his expertise, guidance and kindness. His smile was magnetic and immediately put patients at ease. My prayers to his family, friends and loved ones. Thank you for sharing him with us. Wishing you peace, comfort and love during this very difficult time.f

Victor was an incredible human being, a brilliant doctor, and an amazing soul.  I cherish the times I spent shadowing Victor in the clinic. It is with tremendous sadness to learn of Dr.Ibrahim’s passing. There are no words to express such a loss. He was simply human first and extremely compassionate about his work and a gifted exceptional  care provider. He had a beautiful smile that immediately put you at ease. It is said by some we only have so many breaths .... some of us slow down - we conserve those breaths hoping the last one is later in life. 

Perhaps a healer only has so many lives s/he may touch, heal, care for in their own unique way. 

Dr. Ibrahim you touched so many of us - you healed and continue to heal so many. We were treated with intelligence, skill, tenderness and warmth. A genuine healing flowed through you; from somewhere we do not know; to everyone. That healing continues today through healed and healers alike; if we do not allow the pain we experience from your loss to overshadow your unique gift.

I first met Victor in 2012 when I went in to his then-M St. office for some shoulder pain. When we both found out that we are from the same region and share an education in and passion for theology, we hit it off on multiple levels. Even though it was a doctor-patient relationship, he was a brother who was always available to discuss medical-related issues and speak about God and the divine in us. His spirituality is what I will forever remember with a smile. Not only did he help me overcome my pain, he was the one who set me up with his broker until I found my place and he was the one who introduced me to my personal trainer & physical therapist. His imprint is lasting and far-reaching. I remember his love for his wife and kids. The paintings of the young ones adorned his office and were the subject of light art critique from us both. I will always cherish our brief moments whether in the office or in Clarendon, our neighborhood, where we bumped into each other every now and then. We last met a few months ago, and he responded to my email in May saying that we will meet again when he is back to work in the Fall. That follow-up meeting did not take place. But I am so certain that it will take place in a much better place. God bless you, my friend. Your light spirit and lovely smile will always be with us. In peace.

Like everyone else, we were stunned  and deeply saddened when we learned the news about Dr. Ibrahim.  So very difficult to accept because it makes no sense  and it hurts that we can't change anything.

We first met Dr. Ibrahim in 2012 in his Silver Spring office and  just immediately felt that we had found someone really special.  The more we saw him, the more we realized  how truly lucky we were to have found him. He had a unique combination of professional brilliance and deep kindness. And a smile that made you feel that every thing would turn out just as he said.

Having a appointment with Dr. Ibrahim was much more than that. It was a visit with a friend who had an almost magical power to heal.

We have all lost someone very special and  irreplaceable . 

He touched us very deeply.

Victor was my roommate from 3/17-5/17.  He was a blessing to have as a friend.  Victor always tried to help me and others with our difficulties in life.  He always gave of himself.  I still remember him always brewing tea for us and then we sipped as we just fellowshiped.  My heart hurts for his family, but I'm know heaven gained an angel. Thanks for being a friend Vic, you will be missed. 

I am confident that Heaven is now Victor's abode and that the Savior delights in his presence. I wonder what doctors do in Heaven without patients. May the Lord comfort each one who mourns for him and fills each heart with love.

Victor my friend, you are among the most loving, understanding, and gifted humans God has ever made. I shall never forget walking with you on the paths we shared. Last time I saw you remember what you said? “The prodigal son is becoming the father”. Look for me my brother and come to greet me as father when this son returns. 

You've been gone a week and I still have trouble processing this as reality. You are, without doubt, one of the most extraordinary humans I have known. Brilliant and compassionate, visionary, yet realistic, you thrived among those of us who knew you needed not be be controlled or handled, but understood. I understood you. I miss you. I always will. The world will be a little less bright without you in it. Rest well my friend.

Victor was a man of God. I saw his compassion the most when I introduced him to Michael, one of the folks I served at Martha's Table. His arm was in chronic pain. We met Victor near the Clarendon metro so he could give Michael an assessment. Victor was there, simply put, to help others. He showed him a few exercises and helped as much as possible. I also remember the Bible studies he hosted in 2011/2012, opening up his home with the men's group. You will be dearly missed here in Earth.

All those who knew or worked with Victor will miss his sense of humor, compassion and skills.

As one of Dr. Ibrahim's patients, I send my deepest condolences to his family.  He was a brilliant diagnostician and a rare empathetic spirit, who did so much to relieve suffering of all kinds in the world. 

I first met Victor years ago at a course that he was teaching while I was studying for ultrasound certification. I asked him if I could fly into DC to shadow him for a day. He graciously allowed me to spend a day observing his work. He unveiled the miraculous world of regenerative medicine and demonstrated that it clearly works when correctly performed. We have since become good friends. 

He has expertly taken care of my patients, my relatives and me with sometimes life-changing results.
His superb cognitive and technical skills were only equaled by his kindness and compassion. He never charged Wounded Warriors and never declined to treat patients who could not afford to pay, not even charging for overhead costs.

I have never worked with or met a person as gifted and empathetic as Victor. I doubt that I ever will.

I will miss you my friend. Rest in peace.



My aunt brought me to Dr Ibrahim in 2016 after a misdiagnosed and mistreated shoulder injury left me with unrelenting pain that made it impossible to sleep more than 3 hours a night.   As dramatic as it sounds, the pain wore me down to a point where I did not think my life would ever be normal again.   My initial appointment with Dr Ibrahim was like a light going on in a very dark room.  He knew exactly what the pain was like and what to do about it.  He addressed my frantic questions with real patience and real humor.  A week later, he made time in his fully booked schedule for me to come back the next day for a shot I was too fearful to have on my first visit. He smiled brightly when he walked in and said, "I thought you'd be back",  and we both laughed.  Over the course of several  months of treatment, I fully recovered.  Dr Ibrahim was a rare breed - a gifted gracious doctor with a keen mind and unfailing  compassion who approached his patients with genuine enthusiasm.  I will never forget what he did for me.  I write with tears in my eyes.  My heart goes out to his family at this profoundly sad time.  

My deepest sympathies to the family and colleagues of Victor.  He was a phenomenal doctor and became a very dear friend of Melvin and myself.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Ibrahim.  He was a God send to me, as he was to many others.  I had been suffering from a myriad of unusual symptoms and years of hip pain.  He diagnosed my conditions during my first visit and started a treatment plan which put me on the road to recovery.  Dr. Ibrahim literally gave me my life back.

I will always remember his caring and compassionate nature. He was a true healer.

My heart is heavy with this news. As I told select family members during the visitation I am one of Vic’s newer friends. 

I am an Episcopal priest, but encountered him outside of my vocation.  He and I met in the Del Ray part of Alexandria where I go to 12 step meeting.   Many times Vic and I met for coffee and I was blessed to meet the man so many speak about here. 

Vic was warm, generous (he always insisted on paying for my coffee) and spiritual. He and I, sometimes with no agenda, would pray together. 

He loves family. He spoke about his parents, and family and love surrounded those conversations. When he learned that I did not do much with my adult son, he arranged for my son and I to go to a Nationals game!  That was Vic, a spiritual caring man, and a giver. 

Our last text was a brief “hello” on July 1 and I saw him alighting from our usual coffee spot as I drove by it a week or so ago. When I received news Monday I was devestad.  

In the midst of his untimely death I celebrate the love he gave and left as a model for us all to live. 

Not sure where to start. I was blessed to have met Dr Ibrahim about 1 year ago as I was honored to do a working interview with him as one of his Medical Assistants in the Capital Hill office. I was so overwhelmed about how genuine and down to earth he was i went home and googled his name and the practice. Only to find out that Dr Ibrahim was of the most generous, caring, spiritual beings I have ever met. Although it brings tears to my eyes that he has gone to be with the Lord. I am truly blessed to have met and hugged such a beautiful person. Thanks Dr. I for making me apart of medicine that is changing the world.

Victor you are a shining star in heaven. God must have needed a healer with genuine qualities and he called you home. You were always kind and way too generous with kind comments. I wish we would have worked more together. 
I will miss you forever 

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Victor Ibrahim.  I had the amazing fortune to be introduced to Dr. Ibrahim when being treated for TMJ at the Facial Recovery Center, where he dedicated a day or two a month from his incredibly busy schedule to share his unique knowledge and skills in coordination with the wonderful women and staff who ran the center. This was the first time I had encountered a true coordinated medical treatment model where the physician and physical therapists worked as peers to heal and help patients.   Although I was being treated for issues with my neck and jaw, Dr. Ibrahim took the time to get to know me.  I was immediately struck by his kindness, his willingness to really listen and to explain the treatment he felt could help.  In the course of our visit, he learned that I also suffered from chronic lower back and leg pain after a C-Section some 21 years prior - a problem for which I previously had seen scores of doctors, physical therapists and alternative medicine practitioners  without relief.  Every  doctor I had seen before (from gyn to orthopedic specialist) dismissed me when I said I felt the C-Section was directly connected to my back issues; some suggested it was phantom pain.  Dr. Ibrahim simply looked at me and confirmed that my theory was correct.  And he  treated me for the chronic back pain as well as TMJ.  Miraculously,  with only 15 minutes of ultrasound and local scar debridement at the incision line,  my back and leg pain resolved within the course of a month or two .  For me it was nothing short of miraculous. 
I did not have the opportunity to get to know Dr. Ibrahim well, but I knew he was very special the minute I met him. His keen intellect, skill, caring and wonderful optimism he shared, while short-lived, was truly a blessing.  May his amazing life bring his family and friends strength, and the inspiration to celebrate his life through theirs.   

First time I heard about Victor is when my professor in the college advised me to go to him to get Prolotherapy injection in my neck as he is the best she knows so far!
As she was my doctor, too!
I went to him in Washington for my horrifying chronic neck pain that is disabling me, and I found a welcoming, nice, smily doctor who truly cares!
He supported and assured me throughout the treatment session. He made me felt relieved for the first time with my neck problem and gave me the hope!
Not only this, he also refused that I pay for the treatment, where you can find a real doctor like him?!
And, when he found me interested into studying Medicine and work as a Physiatrist (like him), he gave me the advises of how to work it out the fastest way and offered me to work in his place during residency!
Simply, Victor was a great person who cares for others and loves to help!
Victor’s soul has just crossed our dimension to the eternity to be near the god where the infinite life is!

To the family, I met Victor 8 to 10 years ago when he was with National Rehabilitation Hospital. I was impressed with his knowledge and sincere concern for my medical problem. He worked with me and I was quickly on my way to recovery. 
He was the first doctor who provided me with his email address and actually responded dailey to my questions. I lost track of him through the years but when I found out that he was the founding member of ROSM I sought out his care  once again. He was a very inspiring individual, a great doctor and a truly very nice person. He will be missed.  I wish his family the very best during this very sad time. 

From the time I met Victor at the Bethesda National Rehab facility nearly 10 years ago until I last saw him a few months ago at his Capital Hill office, he never failed to impress me with his gentle, warm, kind and friendly demeanor, his reassuring manner and his brilliant smile that instantly gave me courage and for a brief moment made me forget my troubles. 

Victor was an outstanding clinician with a unique ability to see the broad picture, to see you as a human being and envision your whole life. Yet he maintained razor sharp focus on the immediate problem. Despite his busy schedule he always made time to share a vignette to put you at ease.  He was an innovator and a creator. He had the ability to see what others missed and heal when others failed. No wonder he succeeded brilliantly in charting new territory into regenerative medicine. 

Over the years, we were not just colleagues and patient and physician, but we became friends who shared common interests and aspirations.  He talked a lot about his love for his family and always asked about mine.  I shall always remember his friendship, his kindness, his understanding and his generosity to me and my husband. 

Your work and spirit live on, Victor. I'll miss you dearly.

It has been two days since I received the sad news about Dr. Ibrahim’s passing. I couldn’t find the courage then and I still find it extremely difficult to write this message now ..... My husband and I met Dr Ibrahim in 2014 at a time when I was feeling so hopeless and depressed due to chronic pain. On that very first visit, he took the time to listen to all my concerns and fears as well as explain in detail my spine MRI results in a way that was easy for a patient to understand- something that no doctor has ever done before-. We traveled from Toronto on a monthly basis for over a year to see him. We were convinced we have found a true healer, a compassionate, caring doctor that made me feel like I was his only patient, never rushing me when I had a million questions to ask about the procedure, expectations, etc., always attentive and smiling. I will always remember that infectious smile!!! I’m so grateful to God for having the opportunity to meet and receive treatment from Dr Ibrahim. He will be dearly missed.

We extend our sincere condolences to his immediate and extended family as well as his family at ROSM.  Praying to God that you receive the strength and peace in your heart during this difficult times.

Words are inadequate to describe what Victor meant to me, my husband, my friends and his other patients.  Not only was he the perfect healer, he was the friend of all friends.  His liveliness, enthusiasm, intelligence, know-
how and, most of all, his immense caring were a unique combination, though I know through example he passed these qualities along to his fellow doctors, creating quite a ripple effect at ROSM.  He was bold, brilliant , cutting edge and highly capable. What he created at ROSM in a few short years is remarkable. I can easily picture him bouncing around the office with his infectious 1000 watt smile...so delightful and fun.  But, most of all , he really helped us.  I miss him enormously and always will.  I wish I could be there for the service.  Much love to the remarkable Victor and his family.

As I am reading all the previous thoughts of his friends, patients, colleagues, I cannot agree more.
I am so saddened to hear of Dr. Ibrahim’s sudden passing. I was very fortunate to work alongside Victor and his ROSM team, and get to know him a little. I would always remember his caring spirit, all the joy he would bring to the clinic every time he would enter the room, and how much hope he gave all his patients. What I’ve heard from his patients over and over again is that Victor was not only brilliant, but he always deeply cared for everyone, whether it was the beginning of his day, his lunch break, the end of a long week. He always was optimistic, charming, compassionate and passionate about the work he did. 
I will always remember him as an incredibly enthusiastic, caring, super intelligent man with a warm smile. 
I am so sorry such an incredible person is not with us anymore. 
To his immediate, extended family and ROSM family, I hope you will find comfort in knowing how much he meant to others, and how much he touched lives of so many people. Victor Ibrahim left this world a better place, may he rest in peace. 

I am one of the many, here. One of the many. One of the extraordinarily lucky ones who came to see Dr. Ibrahim at what felt like the end of a journey that was running out of hope and that was full of pain and confusion. I have only rarely been understood so completely--not only as a patient, but as the person that I am--and so immediately as I was by Dr. Ibrahim. This bond was incredible. That so many others here have that same experience can just begin to explain what a huge presence this person was, what an overwhelming radiance came out of him. It was a capacity for emotional genius, I think. (His medical genius goes without saying.) What he gave me, I don't think anyone else could have. He changed my life. It was not only because of the medical information he gave me at our first appointment which no one else, in five years, had. It was also because of the unbelievable depth of understanding which encompassed everything he said and did. He just KNEW. His kindness was astonishing and his humor made him almost seem normal, and appointments were just a time to soak up wisdom. I wish so much I could say all of this to him. I owe him so much and at the VERY least, Dr. Ibrahim, I owe you thanks, thanks, thanks. 

Reading the beautiful memories shared here feel akin to the warmth of Dr. Vic's smile.  He was a healer in the true sense of the word as he not only dealt with the physical condition but touched the soul with joy and love. Knowing him was one of the greatest joys of my life.  I'll never forget the time he emailed me late at night to make sure my daughter living in Turkey was safe during a failed coup attempt.  I know how much he loved his family and send my heartfelt prayers and condolences.  What he gave and taught each of us by example will live forever.

Dr. Ibrahim was more than a Doctor to me.  He was a friend - he truly cared about helping me (and everyone).  His infectious smile helped all of us through the pain! I hope his Family can find some solace in knowing how much so very many of us care; and how highly we all think of him.  Heaven has another Angel ...  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Marita. 

I have read many other messages left and I too am stunned by Victor's untimely death.  Like others, Victor fixed medical problems for me that others could not treat.  In literally moments on one occasion he relieved me of hip pain that two other doctors and months of rehab could not fix.  That alone would warrant a note, but this outpouring of emotion from so many he touched is due to Victor the person.  He was warm, forthcoming, generous, interested, caring.  Despite the pain inflicted, it was always an up to see Victor--both to be healed and to be in his presence.  He took a strong interest in my non-profit work and took time to talk about it.  For his family and those close to him, I hope that all the love and respect we had for Victor will soothe your hearts over time as you cope with this unimaginable loss.

When we learned of Dr. Ibrahim's  death we were stunned.  We deeply mourn the loss a dear friend and a brilliant doctor.   He was not at all reluctant to share his feelings with us.  Ironically, the subject of death came up during  a visit and he said that we shouldn't fear death because what follows is a greater afterlife of joy, peace and happiness.  He suggested that we read " Proof of Heaven, A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife. "  He related having a similar near death experience.  May he rest in peace after giving so much of himself to others.
We send our prayers and warmest thoughts to Victor's family and to his family at ROSM.

I am shocked and incredibly saddened to learn of Dr. Victor Ibrahim's sudden passing. I was a patient of his for over 4 years and during that time span saw him at least 40 times.  Six months prior to my learning of Dr. Ibrahim,  I had undergone shoulder surgery that ended up making my left shoulder far worse. Things reached a point that I was in constant pain, lost much range of motion along with strength,  and was unable to sleep more than 2-3 hours per night due to the pain worsening at night. Before I had this shoulder problem I was a die hard fitness person who had also worked as a personal trainer. The extreme change along with the fatigue left me depressed with no answers. Conventional medicine had nothing good to offer me. 

I then learned of Dr. Ibrahim through a neighbor/friend. Based on this friend's recommendation I decided to contact him.  After my first visit with Dr. Ibrahim which included an initial treatment, I had noticeable relief. I was easily 20-30% better. This gave me hope and encouraged me to continue. After the 4+ years of seeing him,  my shoulder ended up about 85% good.  Sleeping is fine and I can even workout with just a few limitations. Dr. Ibrahim gave me my life back. Before learning of him, I had literally prayed for a miracle. I received the miracle I had prayed for and that miracle had a name....Dr. Victor Ibrahim.

Dr. Ibrahim was as great a person as he was a doctor. His face would always light up with that fantastic smile the moment he would see me. His friendliness, enthusiasm, optimism, compassion, kindness, humility, and generosity knew no bounds. He always explained things in language that was easy to understand. In addition, Dr. Ibrahim always showed interest in getting to know more about me and my family, and he would often speak about his family that he was obviously so proud of.

I will never forget this great and brilliant man and will always be extremely grateful to him. May he rest in peace. 

I will always be grateful for the medical care I received from Dr. Ibrahim -- care which enabled me to avoid complicated and unnecessary surgery. His healing touch and warm heart will be missed. 

Rest in peace and, I am sure you are giving a bro hug to everyone upstairs. 
You will be missed. 

Dr Ibrahim was a gifted healer. And I had the good fortune to receive care from him. His diagnosis, that I had a torn thigh muscle, rather than an injured knee, saved me months of recovery time. He was a gift and light in the world. He will be so missed.

I'm sending all wishes for comfort and peace to his children and family as you go through this difficult time.  

I’m at a loss for words.... I only met Victor a couple of times but his presence was greatly felt. He was very passionate, knowledgeable, super sweet and compassionate with his patients. I felt like I was going to see a friend and not my doctor. Every time he saw me he would ask I email him about my progress. He really took the time and his care went a long way. My condolences to his family. His loss will be felt.... his memory never forgotten....

Dr. Ibrahim changed my life for the better, as he did for so many others. When other doctors refused to see anything else but pain you needed to learn to live with, he saw a way to fix you and make you whole again. His presence in this world was a gift to his patients. This weekend, I was able to take an arduous hike to see a beautiful waterfall with my beautiful niece. This moment and so many others would not have been possible without his work and that of his office.  

So often talent and kindness do not seem to go together, but in Dr. Ibrahim they did!  He was always so encouraging and kind, with a big sparkle in his eye!!

My condolences to his family and everyone at ROSM.  I hope that it is of some comfort to know that his work will live on in the lives of those he helped to heal.

It is with such overwhelming sadness that I am writing this passage about Victor. He’s been my doctor for just under 2 years and my friend for what feels like a lifetime. Victor first came into my life after I struggled for years with severe back issues that no other doctor could solve. Incredibly, it took him mere minutes to diagnose. From that first meeting, I knew I was with someone special, a doctor different from all others, a pioneer way ahead of his time. During the 2 years that he treated me, I got to know him not only as a medical practitioner but as a truly wonderful human being.  A shining light has gone out but his brilliance, compassion, warmth and humor will remain a part of me forever. May You Rest In Peace Dear Victor. 

My sincere condolences to Dr. Ibrahim's family,  I am so sorry to hear he has passed away.  I remember the first time I saw him I was having severe pain in my back and legs and he said he was going to take care of me because if this was his sister he would want the person taking care of her to give her the best of care.  He did every thing for me so that I would be pain free.  Whatever injection he gave me lasted 5 years.  I went back to NRH to see him and they said he no longer worked there.  I saw another pain specialist and he could do nothing for me so I Google and found where his new office was and went back to see him.  He was so nice and very caring.  His was very empathetic .  He was a very caring person and I will never forget his kindness .  Dr. Ibrahim you will be  missed and just how much you were loved. I pray your family will find peace comfort in the days to come. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Victor.  I am in complete shock. I met Dr. Victor and the team at ROSM during my work for another medical provider.  Dr. Victor was truly a gift from God for the unbelievable pain I was having in my shoulder from a car accident. A year or two of other therapies proved unsuccessful and I met Dr. Victor at a luncheon .  He immediately said-come see me, I think I can help you! Help me he did and several other friends as well. Dr. Victor was incredibly bright, thoughtful and made you feel like your concerns were truly valid.  He was instrumental to me regaining strength, hope and my physical being. He was always responsive and would share the amazing work he was doing to advance the medical world. I went on to meet his wife and hear about his love for his son and the then birth of his second son. My heart is broken for he was truly one of a kind. My prayers and thoughts are with his  family.  Much love and peace Dr. Victor. 

A bright light has just been dimmed. I am devastated and reading through many of his patients comments regarding his caring, ability to listen and his amazing healing skills make it even more painful to know that he is no longer with us in this physical world.  Dr.I ( as I called him) brought my hand back to life and function after a major tendons transfer operation left my tendons encased in scar tissue.  I could hardly use my hand,  I could not write, type or hold a fork or a hair brush. I am not sure any other physician would have tackled such a delicate task or been up to the challenge.  But thankfully, he was and I have never stopped feeling lucky to have been referred to him. I never stop singing his praises.  He also made me, along with what seems now like all his patients, feel so at ease and confident and hopeful in his abilites to find a way to heal us that I am that was all an important part of our healing.  Dr. I, RIP,  I hope you know how much you were loved and will be missed.   

Dr Ibrahim, never have I met anyone like you. From day one at the Silver Spring office 5 years ago to the last time I saw you in the DC office months ago, never did I imagine I'd never see your smile and get your healing treatment ever again.  I'm saddened for the great loss to everyone you healed, led to Christ, educated and mostly for your children and family. I pray they find peace and comfort in knowing you are with your Lord and savior and with them still but one day will see you again. I remember how you made me feel..., in pain but laughing at the same time. I remember laying there, listening, as You explained to every student you were training how a healthy muscle looked to how to find and see what an injured muscle and tendon looked, then stabbed it!! Lol I learned right along with them! Id leave with a limp but email you the next day with a picture of me doing all the jumping kicking splitting running moves that your treatment allowed me to do once again, for that I am forever grateful. May your soul rest in peace and I look forward to seeing you in heaven. I'm sure God has better plans for you in heaven, that is just a testament to know how much greater Heaven is than here on Earth.

I am one of those who Dr.  Ibrahim diagnosed correctly after ten minutes, when I had been trying to find an answer for three decades.   Like so many other patients, he changed my life.    In addition to his astonishing skill and empathy, Dr. Ibrahim believed that all should be treated equally.     He wanted everyone to be able to receive the best medical care possible, and treated everyone with the same caring and respect.    He had humility despite all that he had achieved, and there was always a twinkle in his eye.   My thoughts are with his family and everyone at ROSM.









To the family of Dr. Ibrahim, my deepest condolences. 
Like many others here, Victor helped me through some tough times when physical pain was crippling. He worked hard to get me back to where I could walk comfortably again and was always very supportive. At times I felt like I was his only patient, impressive when you think about some of the high profile patients he had that he still went out of his way to help everyone that came through his door.  
He was a gentleman and will be missed. 

Dr Ibrahim was such a kind hearted man. Even though I was in pain, he would always greet me with a smile and make sure I was ok. To his family, I hope you can feel the warmth of his memories and love 

Dr Ibrahim was a leading force for me to recapture my life as an active person and contributing member of community. I was partially disabled due to  pain and cascading medical problems originating from joint and connective tissue damage, tears, inflammation, and decreasing range of motion and mobility in all my joints and limbs. When other doctors could only prescribe drugs and referrals to other physicians, Dr Ibrahim addressed the multitude of ailments as Kinetic Chain Disorder, and prescribed a treatment plan that has given me life again with only episodic and minimal pain that can be managed. I am forever thankful for the skill, compassion, and confidence-building Dr Ibrahim has given me to be able to move and enjoy life. He was a blessing to me and the many folks I have referred to him. To his family, please know comfort and peace. Deep gratitude Dr Ibrahim. Blessings!

Victor, my life is forever changed by your influence, friendship, and mentorship. 
When I call you “brother” it is because you truly are my brother. You were pivotal in my walk with Jesus and developing a relationship with him. Thank you for all that you are and all that you have done. You are an inspiration to all of us. 
We will all be asked one important question, “Did you learn to love?” I know without a doubt that your answer of “Yes, Father” will be returned with, “This is my son whom I am well pleased. Well done.” All of your actions, words and works were for the glory of God. His Holy Spirit lived in you and shone bright. 
Thank you for the memories, bro. 
I love you. I miss you. I look forward to the day we can laugh again. 


The loss of Dr. Ibrahim – and what it has and will continue to mean to my family and so many others – finds me short of the words to express my great sense of loss.  I began seeing him soon after he came to Washington and he served and assisted me as a healer, educator and inspirer whether it be an ankle, back, multiple knee surgeries or shoulders.  His service meant so much to me and my husband that my husband would join me for most visits, if only to learn of Dr. Ibrahim’s latest interest in expanding the use of PRP, a book he was writing, etc.  I always looked for his smiling face whenever I entered one of his offices.  May his family and staff know how much we share their sense of loss.  We know his contributions in the area of regenerative orthopedics will continue to inspire many more developments that will service those in need.


I am saddened by the loss of Dr. Ibrahim. Like so many other patients, Dr. Ibrahim was my "last resort" after trips to multiple podiatrists, orthopedes and even some quacks resulted in them telling me they didn't know what was wrong. My vet using stem cell suggested I check him out. After waiting 3 months for my appointment, Dr. Ibrahim immdiately noted the problem using the ultrasound and recognized how much pain the issues were causing. He put me on the road to recovery so that I could reach a bucket list goal to take my dog to Agility Nationals! And 4 years later I am close to reaching my goal of total functionality. I owe my diagnosis and initial recovery to Dr. Ibrahim and am so grateful to his expertise and help! I am saddened that future patients won't have this same experience but know that Dr. Ibrahim worked very hard to educate other interested practitioners on what he was doing (it seemed there was always someone else observing when I was treated) so his "last resort" support will live on due to his willingness to share. I will remember is big smile and willingness to watch my latest dog agility video! 

Victor was an incredible, compassionate doctor! I heard his colleagues call him "the Wizard". If there was a difficult medical situation, and the other doctors could not figure it out, he always could. He had a beautiful gift from God. Victor always made me feel comfortable and asked about my life while treating me, especially during the most painful and uncomfortable treatments. He knew that making me laugh would take my mind off of the pain. I have never met anyone like him, a man so full of life, love and joy. He was a true gem and sadly, a huge loss to all of us!

Victor, I am thankful our paths crossed and I had the opportunity to know you as my doctor and my friend. Not only did you help with my physical healing but you inspired me to follow Jesus after being apart from God. Your love was seen through your actions. You loved every person you met and shared your light. Thank you for being authentic and honest with me. Your heart was so big and your love encompassed everyone you came in contact with, especially me. You made a difference in my life! I will always remember you. I love you, Victor! 


I just ran into Victor 2 weeks ago at a Thai restaurant in Silver Spring.  I haven't seen him in awhile because I now go to the Rockville office and unfortunately he stopped working from there.  So, it must've been a couple of years since I'd seen him, though I did see him almost monthly for about 3 years, give or take.

I was with my brother and when he came in, we had seen him hanging around waiting for someone outside, he walked right over, said "Hi, Brian" and remembered my brother's name even though he had never met him and I hadn't seen him for those years.  Pretty remarkable.  Told him we saw him wondering and he jokingly asked me if that meant I thought he was "homeless" again.  

He was a wonderful doctor, a charming delightful human in every sense, and I'm glad I got to see him recently and will miss him tremendously.

I am heart broken to hear of Dr. Ibrahim's passing.  Like many others have expressed, Dr. Ibrahim was the key to my recovery after many years of horrible back pain. He gave me hope again. 

I will never forget his compassion, contagious optimism, and his spirit of being a partner with me in my recovery.  At time time I became Dr. Ibrahim's patient, I was working very long hours in DC and he was amazing at working to accommodate my work schedule.  More than once, I suspect he treated me over his "lunch break," and always with the same level of enthusiasm and care.  

I am so very sorry that this amazing man is no longer with us.  To his family and especially his children, I hope you feel comfort in knowing just how large of an impact Dr. Ibrahim made on the lives of his patients' and their families. He was truly a God send to me and countless others, and his legacy will live on in us and in you.  

The loss of this gifted, young doctor in the prime of his life and medical practice is incalculable.  He touched so many lives in a uniquely positive way.  First and foremost, he was a healer - a term that ideally should apply to all physicians, but, unfortunately does not.  His ability to see the suffering of his patients and deeply understand  the source and cause made us feel fully seen and understood, as if for the first time.  His optimistic confidence in an ability to provide relief gave us hope for a better life.  
His empathy and compassion for his patients combined with his passionate vision and belief in the healing power of regenerative medicine are irreplaceable.
Above all, his ebullient pride and joyous affection for his family, something he expressed almost every time we saw him, was an integral part of who he was.
We grieve for his family, his patients past and present as well as for those who will never experience his healing touch and for the physicians he mentored and taught and those who will never have that opportunity.  
Victor Ibrahim left the world an immeasurably better place for having lived.  What more could be said of any man.

Victor and I started our careers in DC at the same time as coworkers, and his innovative treatments and caring spirit have helped so many of my patients over the years. I’m grateful to have been his colleague and friend. 

As I read all the previous loving thoughts about Victor, I can only agree.
He was a light and a beacon. He brought hope and light and joy into the room and always gave me great encouragement. I have described him as 'my doctor that I love' and I did as did so many of his patients. It was obvious that he loved us back. I hurt for the loss we now share and the loss of this brilliant shining star of a man.

Words cannot even begin to describe the feelings of shock, sadness and loss... 
I heard of Dr. Victor Ibrahim through my PCP. She was very clear that he was the best, so getting an appointment would be difficult due to the  high demand. 
 After much waiting, I finally met “the man” in person.  I wasn’t sure what to expect. Based on everything I had heard, he seemed larger than life.  I was a bit nervous as sometimes people like that have egos and attitudes to match! 
Dr. Ibrahim was the exception. He was very personable and friendly, a wonderful listener, and even a bit humble.  He made one feel very important and showed genuine concern, compassion, and care. 
He not your conventional doctor which was so refreshing! He was clearly very intelligent, innovative, and had an actual desire to not only bring relief, but to cure. He looked at you as an individual and didn’t do the “group and drug” approach that is so common in medicine these days.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see him as often as I would have liked due to the high demand. One would think that could create tremendous stress and cause him to rush his patients. But if that were the case, he had an amazing poker face! 
During my appointments, we enjoyed discussing our children, families, and life in general. Granted, I did not know him well, but his eyes just lit up during those discussions.  His warm smile was infectious. 
Dr. Ibrahim was definitely one of a kind. He was a family man and an innovator in medicine. I am so grateful for the privilege of receiving treatment from him and getting to know him a little.  
I do not know why he was taken from this earth so soon, but I have no doubt that his legacy will live on through his family, medical practice, and those privileged enough to have practiced with, received treatment or learned from him...



My deepest condolences are extended to the family of Victor. It pains me to think he will no longer heal additional lives like he did for me and so many. His incredible intuition, spirit, positive energy and compassion towards others will live forever in my heart. At 38 he achieved more than most of us could ever dream of and his ability to impact our bodies, mind and medicine will continue on while his body takes this well-deserved rest in eternal peace. May God continue to Bless you Victor, your family and children. No doubt you were a Victor at it all. 

I met Victor shortly after he left National Rehab. Hospital. At that time
I had severe and complex orthopedic problems. Victor listened, thought
creatively, and never gave up. Along the way we always talked as we were
both interested in the relationship of psychology and medicine.
I referred many patients to him and each one would call me up and thank me
for finding the gentle genius that he was.
He was a gift to many, and so loved his family. While my medical issues
took a short amount  of  my visit,  we always sat and talked. Physicians just don’t do that.
He is a loss on so many ways. But a memory to never forget.



Victor was not only my orthopedist, but also a colleague and a friend.  He always had a smile on his face.  He was one of the most optimistic people I know.  Always had kind and supportive words to say.  A gifted healer.  His passing is a loss to many communities both directly and indirectly.  It will have a ripple effect.

Once the shock and pain of his passing have subsided, I will always remember his beaming smile.

He always saw the brightest side of life, always wore a smile, was full of energy and life, and always lifted my spirits. I will so dearly miss him.
