

William D. “Bill” Byrnes, age 93, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, in Fairfax, Virginia. Born on December 20, 1932, in Cleveland Ohio, Bill lived a long and fulfilling life marked by dedication to his family, career and passions.
A proud veteran of the Korean War, Bill served his country with honor before embarking on a successful career as a professional salesman. Throughout his career, he earned numerous awards and accolades, reflecting his hard work and commitment to excellence.
Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Kathryn A. Byrnes, and their eldest son Thomas E. Byrnes. He is survived by his children: William M. (Susan) Byrnes, James P. Byrnes, and Cheryl L. Steel; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the love and memories shared by his family.
In addition to his professional achievements and devotion to family, Bill had a deep passion for timepieces. He found joy in collecting specialty clocks and watches, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and precision.
