Yilmaz Turker, 87, of Annandale VA, passed away on April 4, 2021. He was born in Bor, Turkey on October 1, 1933 to Ahmet Nafiz and Abide Turker, and raised by his father and stepmother Fatma. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Remziye Guler Turker, his daughters Ebru Turker Pekari and Didem Turker, his son-in-law Greg Pekari, his grandchildren Derya, Talia, Remsen and Finlay and further survived by siblings, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Proud immigrant and entrepreneur, he came to the United States in 1963 and co-founded Erols, Inc. with his childhood friend Erol Onaran. He was a constant source of generosity, wisdom and knowledge to his family, friends and the Turkish community.
Services will be on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 as follows: 1:45 pm Islamic prayer at Diyanet Center of America, 9610 Goodluck Road, Lanham MD 20706 followed by internment at 3:00 pm at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
