Yin Wah Jennifer Chau, 65, lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by her loving family, friends and coworkers. She passed away peacefully on March 19th, 2024 at Inova Loudoun Hospital, with Ming Chau, her devoted husband of 43 years, by her side after a long battle with lung cancer.
Born on September 4th, 1958 in China, her family decided to move to Hong Kong when she was 3. She met the love of her life at the age of 20 and gave birth to two sons, Ronald and Michael, in 1982 and 1988. When she married Ming, they only had a few hundred HK dollars in their bank account. They worked tirelessly and saved every penny to provide a better future for their children. In 1997, with the help of her sister, Bei, they were able to move to the United States and begin a new chapter.
Our mom’s greatest joy was her family. She supported her family wholeheartedly, cheering on her sons’ accomplishments and caring for others when needed. She was never shy about voicing her opinions and facing life’s challenges head on.
After moving to Virginia in 1997, she was employed by Cornerstone (now TTM Technologies). She was one of the most hardest working person you would ever meet. She often worked 7 days a week and still had the energy to take care of her family. She never complained about working because she loved her job and not working was never on her mind.
Our mom would always say “Everything is meant to be, if it’s my time to go, then so be it. I have no regrets because I am so happy and lucky to have your dad and my sons by my side.”
Our mom was predeceased by her father, Chuen Shui Tse; and mother, Siu Tao Shieh. She is survived by her loving husband, Ming Chau; son, Ronald Chau; son, Michael Chau (Elaine Li). She is also survived by her:
