Glueckert, Alan P., 66, of Bethpage passed away July 19, 2023. Beloved high school sweetheart and husband of over 40 years to Eileen. Devoted and loving father of Katie Etter (Michael) and Kevin. Adored Pop of Maeve and Colin. Cherished brother of the late Bill (Patricia) Linda Molesky (Bill), Richard (the late Alicia) and Donald (Carol) - dear brother-in-law of Ellen Porter (Rich), Bob Murphy (Debbie), Gary Murphy (Jason La Padura), Marybeth Krummenacker and William Murphy (Cynthia). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless friends. Retired Nassau County Corrections Officer after many dedicated years of service. Al’s family was always his top priority. Eileen has been the love of his life, Hicksville High School sweethearts since 16 and together almost 49 years. Al was an unbelievable father, always involved in his childrens’ lives and never missing the chance to be proud of them. He worked tirelessly for his family to provide a life of opportunities for them. He was the epitome of what a Dad should be; being present, sacrificing sleep to be at every sporting event and family occasion. Al set such a remarkable example of how to be an amazing father, that so many looked to him for advice and guidance. He was the family caretaker, always there for everyone and putting everyone else first. Al adored his grandchildren and looked forward to summertime when he spent countless hours laughing and playing with them. Video camera always in hand, Al was known to capture every moment when he had the chance whether that be a game, family party, wedding or backyard hangout, distributing DVD copies to family and friends. He was selfless, loving, dedicated, a quiet social butterfly and an extremely hard worker. After his retirement, he enjoyed his time on the golf course, hiking, boating, jet skiing, going to estate sales and just spending time with family and friends. Al had a passion for classic cars, especially his red ’67 Mustang convertible. He had a green thumb, creating a beautiful garden filled with gorgeous flowers and vegetables that he would plant with his grandkids. Al had a heart of gold and was the definition of selfless. He left footprints on so many hearts and his legacy will live on forever by the actions of others who learned from him. The family will receive visitors Friday, July 21st, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Funeral Mass Saturday, July 22nd, 10 am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Cremation Private.
