

Dentato, Buddy, of Farmingdale passed away at 80 years of age, September 24, 2023. Devoted father of Bob (Karen) and Richard. Proud grandfather of Christine, Steven and Laura. Predeceased by his dear parents Nicholas and Louise. Buddy was the middle child of 3 children, he is survived by his sister Marian Pavlacka-Meikle and predeceased by his brother Nick. Caring uncle of many nieces and nephews. Proudly proclaimed throughout his life he was originally from Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. You always knew when Buddy entered a room, he made a grand entrance, loud, proud, and full of life. Buddy led an extremely fulfilling active life. Boxing was a significant part of his US Marine Corps. service. Buddy’s country and community service continued as his next career was an NYPD patrol officer. Receiving it’s highest award, the Combat Cross. An active gentleman who was happy when he was busy. His interests were varied, they included coaching football with the Farmingdale Hawks and Cardinal Spellman High School. Enjoying a round of golf with a Dewars on the 19th hole, betting on the horses (but usually not winning) and thank goodness for radio and TV because they enabled him to cheer (and sometimes yell) at the Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and St. John’s University Basketball. The family will receive visitors Friday, September 29th, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale. Funeral Mass Saturday, September 30th, 10:45 am at St. Kilian RC Church. Cremation Private.
