Francis Huyen Van Bui

Bui, Francis Huyen, 91, of Bethpage, passed away January 16, 2024. Devoted husband to Hien Thi Nguyen for more than 57 years. Father of six; grandfather of seven; and guardian to many foster children. Huyen was born to a large Catholic family in Vietnam. He was a South Vietnamese military officer. After the fall of Saigon in 1975, he was forced to evacuate and leave his family and home behind. Huyen eventually settled in New York, where after five years apart, he was reunited with his wife and children, and moved to Bethpage in 1985. Huyen was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of the Vietnamese Church on Long Island and parishioner of St. Martin of Tours RC Church. He was a loving, steadfast, dependable father who was proud of his children and grandchildren. Huyen loved to do puzzles and read the paper. You could always find him tending to the prolific garden in the backyard. Huyen leaves behind his cherished family and is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved son. The family will receive visitors Thursday, January 25th, 2-4 p.m & 6-8 p.m. at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage, New York. Funeral Mass to be held on Friday, January 26th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours, 220 Central Avenue, Bethpage, New York. Burial to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, East Farmingdale.
