October 17, 1928 – August 28, 2025
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeanne F. Miles, who left this world peacefully on August 28, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on October 17, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York, Jeanne’s life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, family, and resilience.
Jeanne was the beloved wife of the late Nelson C. Miles. Married in 1946, Jeanne and Nelson shared 42 joyful years together, raising a family rooted in strength, laughter, and unwavering love until Nelson’s passing in 1988. Their marriage was a true partnership and a shining example of lifelong devotion.
She was a loving and devoted mother to Deborah Temple, Denise Olton (Terry Olton), Damian Miles, and Matthew Miles (Michele), and she now joins her beloved son Nelson C. Miles, Jr. in eternal peace. Jeanne was the heart of a large and growing family—cherished grandmother to Luke Temple (Dana), Christian Temple, Deborah Jeanne Lynch (Doug Lynch), Rachel Miles, Sarah Stroup (Clint Stroup), Jacob Miles, Joshua Miles, Hannah Arilotta (Kevin Arilotta), Nelson Miles (Catie), Matthew Miles, Nicole Miles, and the late Daniel Temple.
Her role as great-grandmother brought her special joy. She was lovingly known as "Grandma Jeanne" to Samantha Temple, Benjamin and Charlie Lynch, Charlie, Jackson and Cami Miles, Finley and Lincoln Stroup, and Preston Miles—each of whom brought a sparkle to her eyes and warmth to her heart.
Jeanne was the dear sister of the late Robert and Ronald Ravich, and she shared her love and warmth not only with her human family, but also with her beloved fur companions, Tippi, Apache, and Misty.
Jeanne had a vibrant spirit and a heart full of life. Although she was a good cook, she absolutely adored going out to eat, always asking with a smile, "What are we eating?" She found comfort in her favorite red robe, settled in her chair, always adorned with a pair of earrings that matched her vibrant personality. A loyal New York Mets fan, she was never far from a game or a plate of her favorite pasta and spaghetti.
More than anything, Jeanne treasured being surrounded by her family. She delighted in every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always happiest when the house was full, loud with laughter, and overflowing with love. Her legacy is the closeness of the family she nurtured—a true matriarch whose love continues to echo through the generations.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 9:45 AM at St. Kilian Parish, Farmingdale, with interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
Jeanne’s life was one of deep love, quiet strength, and endless generosity. She will be remembered with immense affection, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
