John Joseph Zureck

Zureck, John Joseph, 80, passed away peacefully at his home on June 24, 2022. Beloved husband of  Kari Ann, loving father of John Jr, Richard (Lisa), and Kristin DeCarolis (Matt) and cherished grandfather of Kari and Mckenna. John grew up in Farmingdale with his parents, Margaret and Joseph (Mayor 1964), his sister JoAnn, and brothers Roger and Joseph. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. As an athlete he was a four year starter on the C.W.Post football, basketball, and golf teams. He was President of his Fraternity, Kappa Delta Rho. He was signed by the New York Giants in 1963 and spent four months at their summer camp. He was admitted to the C.W.Post Football Hall of Fame and admitted to the C.W.Post Athletic Hall of Fame and received the Distinguished Alumni Award. John earned his MBA in 1966, became a CPA in 1969 and was a partner of Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck and Co. by 1970, where he began his professional career in 1964 with five employees. The trust and respect of his clients and associates at AVZ are a tribute to his accomplishments. After much success in his field, he officially retired in 2007 to spend time with family and friends which he was blessed to have. The family will receive visitors Monday, June 27, 2-4 and 7-9:30 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale. A Funeral Mass  Tuesday, June 28th, 10am  at St. Kilian RC Church. Interment following at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
