Our church community mourns the loss of our faithful friend, Katie. I will miss our 2 hour talks each Saturday night after Mass and our calls during the week. May you rest in peace, my friend, with your parents whom youve missed so very much.

We grieve the loss of such a true and dedicated member of our church family.   Through so much difficult Kate would always do whatever she could to help another.   My heart was deeply saddened that no longer will I see her sitting in her space, her chair in church but I know her spirit will be with us always.   With her deep faith I know that she is with her family again with God in Heaven and it was a blessing knowing her in my life.

My sister and I called her "Cissy".  We would run into the house and she would turn her head with that cute smile and silly giggle... 
A kid at heart who loved being silly with the kids behind the adults backs.  However, Cissy knew right from wrong and she made sure we did as well.  We were lucky to witness and be part of her love for her mother "Harriet".  "Nanny" to us.  It was beyond unconditional. Together they took on life. They won!  Every single day they were together taking on the ups and downs.  There aren't words to describe it.  Those of us who have been with them understand.  To our family she's a friend, companion, mentor, leader, realist, politician, freedom fighter, jokester, pastor, detective, babysitter, coupon cutter, saver of everything, chef and Champion of Celtic Pride!  Her and I would sit and talk for 10 minutes or 3 straight hours about the same topic.  Some of us remember a few political signs on the lawn and that "no uturn" sign right in front of her house that she SO proudly takes credit for having installed.  She was a sports fan. Cute enough, she would read about sports stuff and as soon as we sat down she would be tossing out information about trades, scores, stats, etc.  She did that just for me when I was 10 all the way up until last week.  I'll miss her greatly!  My son Jake and wife Christina have been lucky enough to have spent some quality time with her.  We love you Cissy! You were truly legendary in Bethpage and everywhere you went 
You were my go to for advice and guidance 
Rest Easy my sweet friend .. I will always remember you with a smile
